Brilliant place for sitting in or taking away. Restaurant is always clean and tidy and the food is unbelievable by far the best chippy in dumfries and galloway ☺️

We eat here maybe once a month. Food is always super fresh and very tasty. You get service with a smile. The menu has lots to choose from. We usually sit in and one thing I would like to mention is the seating, there are quite a few seats that there springs are broken / damaged. Some of them are... More

Visited here on a Thursday night with the family as our kitchen was being renovated. My first choice of Chicken Pie was unavailable, I went back to order Lasagne and chips and that was also not available. Meal and occasion ruined, I went home and had yet another Microwave Meal.

My wife and myself decided on a meal while staying in the area, host in our B/B told us to give the Cafe Royal a visit. We had a fish tea each in their restaurant and a pot of tea for two, it was the nicest fish and chips that we have ever tasted, very, very busy place, and staff... More

We like fish and chips, and what better to eat after an arduous day birdwatching at Stranraer; a good trip from Annan especially when our journey started at 6am from Manchester! We had to wait some 30 minutes to get served-was it worth it? The cost is displayed and small leaflets showing food available are readily available. If you think... More

Its been a while since we last ate there and we've always struggled to get in, however we did manage last week and the Fish & Chips were really great, along with the first class service.

Down from Glasgow and a local man at the harbour festival reminded me this was best place in the area for fish and chips. Another local chap down at the mouth of the river also said this was where I should eat. So two unsolicited testimonials from locals reminded me to call in before heading homewards. Upon entering the management... More
