Most remarkable seafood dinner in a while. Took the seafood platter for two, after a fish entree. Langoustines were plenty and very fresh, excellent mussels, scallops and a seabed of prawns completed the picture. Strongly recommended

If you are not already staying at this hotel, it would be well worth the short walk up the hill to enjoy the dinner and views from this restaurant.
Started with a drink on the terrace with the most beautiful view ( a rare night with no rain). Dinner was first class. I had the vegetarian option of pea and asparagus risotto which was perfectly cooked. My partner had halibut which was slightly over...More
After all the seafood we had lately we decided to have some Scottish steak. Best avoided. Both the ribeye and sirloin were tough and lacked flavour. The cheese board consisted of four cheese including a Scottish Brie which shouldn't have been served because it wasn't...More
We started off having a drink outside on the terrace, with views across to the islands as it sits uphill from most of the other surrounding buildings. The dining room is glass so the views continue when you move inside. We went here on the...More
I don't often write a review but on this stunning sunny evening we had a drink on the terrace followed by a 3 course dinner. The salad, the mussels and the local cheese selection were excellent. Super fresh and the restaurant had a nice "vibe"...More
The fish and seafood couldn't be any fresher than that served here at the Terrace Restaurant located inside Mallaig's West Highland Hotel. This is a review I have been eager to write since my very recent visit. The restaurant is located high above the bay...More
This is a hotel restaurant which is open to the general public. We'd arrived on the Jacobite steam train (v.g.)and needed a meal. One of us was aged 8, and (unusually) keen on sea-food. The children's menu included a decent portion of mussels, a haddock...More
The hotel itself is fine but nothing special, so the restaurant really surprised us. The food was excellent, locally sourced and well cooked and presented. No surprise, seafood is their specialty. A table near us ordered a huge seafood platter piled high with different kinds...More
A conservatory restaurant, wide menu and good service. Slightly over priced perhaps. The steak was good but the venison was over cooked (despite being described as 'seared').
