We were staying at The Danna Hotel for a family holiday. This was the venue for our daily lunch. The restaurant had comfortable sitting sections indoor and outdoor seating at the front, with views to the pool and ocean. We had local Asean dishes for...our lunch meals which included the beef rendang and nasi goreng, food dishes was very delicious. We wanted to have their banana fritters for dessert, which looked very tempting with the fillings that comes with it, but was not available the few times we had lunch here because there was no bananas available for the day, the afternoon tea servings looked very tempting too but we never got to check it out. A great venue to dine here with views of the surroundings.More

We had a late afternoon tea/ early dinner here during our stay at The Danna. We tried the drink which had blue pea flower, jasmine and some other bits and bobs which was refreshing. For food we had the mee bandung, fish curry, noodle soup...and nasi goreng. All were made to a decent standard and portions were generous too. Not quite the standard we expect from speciality restaurants but for a hotel, we were satisfied. Prices were fairly high as you'd expect for a five star hotel. No complaints about service and staff.More

Our final day in Langkawi so we opted to have our lunch here as part of our holiday package. Must say we enjoyed it immensely, more so than the high tea ( also nice but husband not that fond of sweets). Started with a mango...salad and a Thai beef salad as entrees. The portion sizes were so large I mistook them for main courses. Normally I don’t eat beef but after 3 weeks away from Aus decided to give it a go. Very tender and flavoursome. Next came the true mains. Vego noodles and a Nasi lemak which has the loveliest flavour and texture. It was accompanied by 2 large spicy grilled prawns, a beef and a chicken satay and a crispy chicken wing. Huge serving - felt dreadful wasting so much but it could have fed 2-3 people. Compliments to the chef. One of the nicest meals we’ve had. Unfortunately we had to deny the offer of a fruit platter as we were so full. Danna you have left us a wonderful impression for our final meal before heading on the long flight home. Thank you to all the staff who have contributed to making our holiday so wonderful. We were told during our tour of the hotel that Straits & Co only serves snacks and afternoon tea, when Planters, the main hotel restaurant, is closed between lunch and dinner. I had a late "snack" here, at 2.30pm, but given the portion and quality,...it was really lunch. It was nasi goreng at a whopping 65 ringgit but came with all the bells and whistles- sambal prawns, fried tumeric chicken wing, satay and seafood in the nasi. Very large portion, very tasty and very filling. So yes, it's "international" pricing but at least you are getting quality and quantity. And service too. Staff service at the hotel is simply exemplary.More
