Epic spot on the beach! The owner and staff are very friendly. Luckily you are warned when you arrive to pace yourself as new dishes arrives for quite some time ...and you do not want to miss out, believe me!

A lovely spot. Most of the food is ready at the same time unlike similar places where you could spend up to 4 hours eating. Wooden benches and tables. Small bar. You eat with shells so bring your own cutlery if you don't like using your hands and a shell. Lovely beach to walk on. Amazing atmosphere.

We travel to Cape Town once a year (almost) from London and no trip is complete without a visit to Lamberts Bay and the Muisbosskerm. It is by no means a fine dining experience, and neither does it claim to be, but what it is, is the best and freshest seafood, caught locally and served in a traditional manner that... More

It is fortunate that we have visited restaurants like this before because we were not greeted upon arrival, found our own seats, and no instructions were given about how the meal would work. Also, there was no description given of the various courses as they were brought out. However, there was a very friendly bartender! The food was exceptional and... More

Lets start with the positives. Muisbosskerm is a unique setting not likly to be matched it is an experience. However the food is not great it is fish. Snoek was good and thats it. The sweet pattato was the highlight. Staff is not very friendly and it seems like they just want to get back to what ever they are... More

We kept track for a few weeks before our visit if Muisbosskerm would be open. To our delight it was for dinner the evening we were in Lambertsbay bay. Having been to similar venues in the Mosselbay area we were a little skeptical. This was totally unfounded as we had a lovely meal with friends. The fish was very nicely... More

Decided to spoil ourselves with dinner at Melkbosskerm. What a feast. The was pickled herring, grilled calamari, hottentot, kabeljou, snoek and about 10 other fish. The paella was outstanding. But keep space for the lamb, venison and tripe stews. Wrap this up with coffee and a koeksuster! West Coast hospitality defined.

We were in Lamberts Bay and had to experience Muisbosskerm! What a surprise! Watching the sunset with waves coming in and out. Each and everybody was in good spirit and we immediately made friends with a stunning biker group. Then the food experience started. Herring! Perfectly braai'd Kabeljou, Snoek, Angelfish, smoked as well, Yellow Tail etc. Each has a different... More

Awesome is the only word I can use to describe this place. Its like no other restaurant I have been to. If you are after a really unique cultural experience then come here. The restaurant is open air on the coast of the South Atlantic ocean. Its advisable to bring warm clothing as those sea breezes can get a bit... More

This is an excellent outside venue to taste fish dishes the South African way. Right on the beach next to the Atlantic ocean this restaurant provides a great menu buffet style of fish dishes of this region. Booking is essential.
