When we arrived, we were so excited, the place had fantastic memorabilia around.. a real life Bell copter out on the lawn, a Harley and another motorbike greeted us at the entrance. There’s even a small river running on the side.. the first thing that...grabbed my attention was that big shiny espresso machine as I entered the restaurant, and immediately the craving for a freshly pulled latte with the delicious milk foam entered my thoughts and that was the first thing I wanted and I ordered it promptly. The rest of the family were busy ordering their lunch. 10 minutes later, the waitress comes with what looks like an exquisite looking bone china tea cup, but when I peered into it, it was an expresso. It was black coffee with the creama on top .. no milk!!! So I told her I wanted a latte, with the steamed milk, she looked some what confused but walks off with the wrong order. Then came our lunch order. The food was not bad, portions were generous, but more than 15 minutes passed and no latte! Now to a coffee addict wanting his fix, this can truly annoying. However, before I got to the boiling point, I heard the bean grinder whirling and the steamer hissing, ah! Music to my ears! I was so delighted to hear them finally playing ‘my song!’ Moments later the waitress comes to me with another exquisite looking bone china porcelain cup (check out the picture). latte? She quipped. Me! I answered as if I was answering a quiz. But what I next saw, my heart sank and I was just so darn disappointed. Just look at the picture! No steam frothed milk! And worse, it was sweet! The cup of coffee tasted like it was made from a 3-in-1 coffee sachet!! I was so angry 😡 lost for words! Well I recommend this place ? Ambience wise and for novelty sake perhaps so, but the menu is really a mess and you can really trust what’s written on it and you would have to ask but they not very helpful. For me, I’m just totally disappointed. Will I recommend ? Sadly, no. There’s just too many restaurants in Khao Yai that won’t make this kind of mistake. We visited on the strength of previous reviews. The restaurant is in very pleasant surroundings next to a river and is nicely decorated. The menu is one of the worst I've ever seen to navigate. It's just a mixed up list of Thai and western...dishes with no structure or organisation. The food was excellent quality though. We had 3 dishes between us, all were tasty and well presented. We were not offered the choice of meat we wanted in the green curry. When we received the bill I was shocked to see the green curry cost a whopping 450b alone because they'd given us the most expensive NY strip loin. It was tender and flavoursome but still some pieces were a little chewy. We would have opted for a cheaper cut in a curry anyway and were disappointed our choice was made for us. Other than that, it was great, just a little pricey for what we were looking for.More
