We recently visited La Cayenne as we had friends staying who love oysters. We drove for over an hour to get here but it was well worth the journey. We had't booked and when we arrived the restaurant was very busy but thankfully they found us a table. We had the set menu which was absolutely wonderful and very good... More

Fresh oysters, moules in local style, non hurried laid back lunch - mainly ignored by tourists but well supported by local French - which to my husband and I who enjoy eating local produce means we will continue to support this small restaurant when we can - all our visitors have demanded a return each year!

We were taken to La Cayenne by friends who have lived in France for 22 years and rate this restaurant as one of the best they have found in that time. The location is well known particulallry for oysters which are caught locally and all other seafoods.,. The menu is just sea food of the highest quality, and of the... More

So disappointed by the poor quality food from the main menu, which was not fresh but frozen, reheated and tasteless. The kids menu of fish and chips included a piece of frozen reconstituted fish mush - unbelievable when the restaurant is a few hundred metres from the sea! A couple near us ordered the fruit de mers, which looked very... More

Very fish food and good recommendations on what is fresh, local, and good. We enjoyed our visit, were treated well and helped along with our questions. Lots to chose from on the menu. Desserts were especially hearty. All at a reasonable price.

In an amazingly natural setting, authentic restaurant right in the fishing port. Shared long chunky tables, slices of trunk polished. A friendly atmosphere. Food just amazing and fresh. An experience not to miss .

Lots and lots of seafood, plus other choices too. Huge portions, especially their special profiterole!

We first visited this little gem around 8 years ago. We were on holiday in the area and tried to find it again. Hooray! Glad we did. It was a Wednesday in the middle of October and the restaurant was full, on the terrace and inside. Same friendly atmosphere as last time. The food when it arrived was perfect. I... More

This was an amazing surprise. The food was fresh, natural and excellent. The helpings were generous with 'Le assiete de la Mer' being amazing. The main courses were delicious all served with locally sourced fries. Great deserts and lovely friendly service. The 'soup de poison' made on site !! We will return to sample other delights !!
