I’ve come here at least once a week for a couple weeks in the off season and the food and service have been excellent. I’ve been served by a couple different waitresses and they’ve all been great. The burgers and poutine are excellent. This is...my favourite spot on the peninsula and worth driving down from Tobermory just for lunch.More
My wife and I came here for lunch. After a rude awakening at the pub down the street we found this hidden gem. I don't think I have ever had better food and service than this restaurant. 15/10 stars. You will not be dissapointed. Thanks...👍More
I came in here looking to get a nice hot supper after a long hike in the Grotto, and what I got was unreal. The service here is so incredibly rude. I am not exaggerating. I had to make an account here just to write...a review because I want to warn others - this place will make you feel BAD just for ordering food. Came in 45 mins before closing (plenty of time) and asked for a burger and fries. Was grumbled at about how they were closing soon, then received what was clearly a re heated burger, and overdone fries. But it's the attitude of the server which really did it for me. One word answers. No explanations when they didn't have something. No apologies for the cold burger, no offer to replace or discount. Residents of lionhead must be pretty sad to only have this be one of 3 choices during the year, but I highly recommend Taste Kitchen instead. Their food has flavour and really kind service. Rachels on the other hand, over priced and bad service. Oh also I did not see the staff sanitize their hands after taking my money and going back into the kitchen. Covid risk. Debit machine wasn't contactless because they ask about a tip right at the beginning. No tip from me.
The good thing I can say is they have a good selection of drinks. I did enjoy a drink.More
We went there after our hike and we were famished ! The burgers (hamburger and chicken on a bun) were very good and there were more than enough fries to go with them. We also bought homemade desserts, which were really delicious.
We went to Rachels for a take out breakfast a few times. Food is cooked very well and they have an ample menu. They are the only place in town that opens early. I had marble rye bread western sandwich that came with hash browns....Great place to get your morning coffee and breaky! Located right in town.More
"Vegetable soup"--boiled water with hunks of veggies in it
"Quinoa Burger"--pile of plain quinoa on a bun
"Quinoa salad"-Bland, no flavour
Waiter asked us how the food was, an unfortunately we did not have a positive review to give her, she...dismissed our dismay with the food and did not cut part of the price or make any attempt to keep us happy. Took forever to get waiter to come to seat us, then to serve us.
One of the waiters impatiently tapped her foot behind customers who were walking slow to get to the patio.
Sloppy themed decor:
It seems like the only thing that is 50s style is the chairs and tables. The rest is normal inside. Keep the theme going or drop it. Looks like they just had some old chairs and tables from a garage sale dumped in a regular room.More
