We arrived here with a toddler on a busy evening - however we had a warm and personal welcome from the staff, who warned us there could be some waiting time. Eventually we had to wait aprox. 1 hour for dinner and something to drink,...but the food quality absolutely made it worth! Very nice food, not overpriced and friendly staff.More

Generally just not a recommendable experience. The atmosphere was nice though, and the interior as well. As soon as we got a table, the waiter started listing up all the things from their menu they did not have. As a vegetarian, most options were then...excluded. I asked if they could do an exception and make paella for just me. The answer were no. So my boyfriend gave up what he wanted so we could have paella - as it was about the only vegetarian thing left. The waiter said 20 minutes, yet it took 30 minutes for the food to arrive. While serving the waiter didn’t say a word and seemed quited distant. The paella was quite mediocre, nothing to celebrate but not bat either. After finishing, we waited a long time to order dessert. As no waiter ever appered, we just went up and asked for the bill. So, nice atmosphere, but mediocre food and low key rude staff.More

Today we returned after a nice meal a few days previously , how different can two experiences be? After ordering starters and asking the waiter to come back for our main course order the chef marches out and says he is closing the kitchen and...will serve no more food until his replacement arrives. We are now leaving a restaurant with two hungry children and we will never return to such a rude establishment.More

We were pleaseantly suprised by the quality of the food. The service was good and quick. It's a must if you are in Porreres or in the South of the Island!

We tried to go here for a drink today and may have stayed for food too if they had even attempted to serve us. We waited at a table outside for 15 mins before going in thinking they hadn’t sen us, we ended up moving...inside thinking we’d be more likely to be noticed. We asked the waiter to order twice and he said he would come over as soon as he could, then he continued to ignore us for a further 10 mins. We then asked again to order and he dismissed me with a wave and we decided to leave. I understand it’s hard when you’re busy and the guy appeared to be in his own but that’s no excuse to be rude. Such a shame as it looked like a lovely place.More

This restaurant still have the best food in Porreres. The problem is to get inside as it often filled upp. The advice is to book in advance.

For the last ten years, every summer we stay one month in Porreras, town where this restaurant is. So we eat and dine at L'Escrivania three times every week. First of all the staff: 1, Friendly 2, Profesional 3, Knowledgable food and drink wise Now...Food: 1, shattering presentation 2, staggering mix of flavours 3, breathtaking quality food wise 4, It is called "cocina de autor" signature cuisine, where you will notice their chef's signature in every single dish. So I suggest whomever comes near porreras in Mallorca, please come and dine or have lunch in this lovely restaurant. Well done all of you! Bravo , mil gracias Familia Gancedo Rey-Morlá CarbonellMore

We had a great lunch at L’Escrivania. Although we were a party of 10, they were particularly helpful in organising a table for us at short notice. The food was exceptional for both vegetarians and carnivores; particularly the pasta. The service was also great. The...deserts were amazing and probably too much for the kids although they tried their best to devour the banoffis and lemon meringue. Highly recommended.More

It’s rare to find a place with such a pretty terrace in the middle of a main town square with such good food (well-presented, well-seasoned, well-priced) and yet have such a poor experience due to the, frankly, rude service from both the younger waiter outside...and the miserable older lady inside. He takes ages to get to you and when he finally does, he chucks the menus down in front of you and doesn’t even check if you want drinks. Then he takes even longer to come around and take the order. No smiles, no politeness, no charm, just a very mechanical process where you feel like you are inconveniencing the restaurant by being one of their clients. He also ignored a request for condiments and didn’t get the bill to us within 15 minutes or so, so we finally ventured inside where the grumpy older lady didn’t ask us how our experience had been, wish us well...nothing. It was shockingly poor to be treated so badly for no reason! And such a shame when the food was of a very good quality. Wouldn’t go back unless they had a complete change of staff.More
