Salad was dripping in salad dressing and was about 3prawns in it. Staff didn't even seem to care when I mentioned it. Not great value for Money for what they charged. Asked for a hot coffee was served luke warm very expensive for what it was...

Great food, good value but the wait is ages! On the 3 occasions we have tried, it didn't improve each time. If you only have an hour for lunch, don't bother or love eating fast.

This well located café serves really good food and at prices most families can afford. It bustles with activity providing a convenient watering hole to Whakatane shoppers and visitors and it is situated in the pretty main street, just behind the Library

So many places have severe regional variations on popular items and the Fig is simply a wonderful simple and quality sandwich shop and cafe. The steak, mushroom and cheese was terrific and highly recommended, and you will enjoy the selection from the rest of their menu as well!

Looked like a nice place and went with friends for lunch. Service was terrible and lunch took about an hour to reach the table, one meal was another 10 minutes. No apology and two of the meals were served without main ingredients as advertised. The pork crackling had no crackling. There would have been been better craic down the road... More

Me and my partner came here for the first time yesterday for lunch and the food was amazing! I had the caeser sandwhich and he had a curry and we were both extremely pleased with both the food and the service. Could see they were very busy but there was no long wait and the waitress was very attentive. Very... More

Awful service 30 minutes wait for 1 egg benny and one big breakfast and one morning tea, we watched as 2 families walked out for lack of service, we had not eaten all day and had driven 3 hours and since we had paid we had to wait then one of our party had to return her scone as there... More

This a must visit café, fresh, yummy always helpful staff. It became my 'go to' for meals. I had breakfast of eggs on toast and a cesar salad that was divine. My friends were very impressed with their coffee and cake and also the banana, bacon, French toast, breakfast they ordered. It was no trouble to share a meal or... More

amazing service as I walked into The Fig just before closing but was still treated as a valued customer. Their blueberry caramel slice is a must have....I'd love the recipe.

Description
You can judge a cafe by its popularity! Fig Licensed Cafe is a go-to favourite that makes a good all-in-one stop, especially with the yummy foods from the blackboard menu, the great coffee and the option to also enjoy a glass of wine or beer. Fig serves tasty fare for breakfast and lunch, and resonates a Kiwi take on urban sophistication. Relax indoors or enjoy the outside courtyard, which is peacefully tucked away with the rolling hills as a backdrop and also features local art sculptures. All food is baked & prepared on premises and there is free wireless internet. The Fig is a great place to create memories with the people closest to you.
