About
We are a restaurant-cafe hidden in a lush garden in the centre of an old colonial house in the centre of Santa Ana. We have live music on weekends. Everything is made on the premise or is bought locally. We are a Canadian-Salvadorian couple and try to use salvadorian flavours in a new and thoughtful way. Come cool off with a fresh fruit frozen, home baked dessert, ribs fresh from the BBQ, a glass of wine and an amazing Salvadoranian coffee!

From the moment we set foot in Cafe TeJas, we fell in love. The quirky atmosphere, the receptive staff, the well-priced offerings... all phenomenal. We visited early on a Friday night, and while it wasn't very busy at first, as the night went on it became clear that THIS was the place to be. The music was energetic, the crowds were lively, and the vibes were undeniable. The number of new friends and connections we made here were unprecedented on our stay, and the amazing time we had here will never be forgotten. If you're ever in Santa Ana, do NOT sleep on this gem of an establishment. You won't regret a trip to TeJas.

Interior design is nice, though it's quite the tourist trap. The staff are beyond distasteful and add tips on to every order without your consent whilst directly asking you when you pay to tip them. If you can believe this ..they even came and requested a 10% tip for us using the pool table which is already an extortionate $3.00 for 30 minutes. Tipping a waiter when they were not involved in any way with our game of pool is beyond ridiculous. All the staff are truly awful. It's a complete scam centre operated by the same foreign owners who own many of the bars in Santa Ana. The interior though nice is a copy-and-paste of so many of the other bars around town. Additionally the 2x1 offer is a lie...it's not infact 2x1 drinks on Thursday ..the entire offer is literally misrepresented once again...to scam the tourists. We had to argue with them for over 30 minutes about our bill which was of course...more than it should of been.

Our server Rodrigo was very welcoming with great service. Cafe Tejas has a cozy atmosphere with a good selection of tapa style dishes. I can recommend it for dinner or just a beer.

This is a must visit in Santa Ana! The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, with good music and great food (especially the tapas). From cold beers to strong and delicious cocktails, some games of pool to live bands on a Saturday, this is THE place in Santa Ana to unwind in the day or have some fun in the evenings. Thank you guys for your hospitality, we loved our visits here during our stay in Santa Ana!

We loved our time in Santa Ana, helped a lot by the amazing hospitality of Basa (the owner) and co. He and his staff went out of their way to make us feel at home there -he and his wife Ameera even invited us into their personal life as friends and took us to see some awesome stuff and introduced us to the local scene! We tried the tapas style menu and loved it. The kebab skewer and the broccoli and steak fondue type dishes were deeeelicious. I would recommend this place to anyone who’s in Santa Ana looking for a place to feel at home and for an opportunity to get to know some of the locals and get a real feel for the city.

Wife and I visited for lunch based on the great reviews. We were only people there but service was very slow (staff were playing pool) and when food came it was all pretty awful - we asked for their recommendation (tapas). Cold, tasteless garlic mushrooms, garlic bread with virtually no garlic butter on, half a sausage in a dry piece of baguette, pork ribs that were more chewy fat than anything else..well you get the idea. The place looks cool and can imagine it would be fun for drinks...just don't eat there.

We visited Cafe TeJas with my husband on a Friday night. Friends who are local suggested we end our night at the cafe. We have to say it was the best night out in Santa Ana. Staff was super friendly and treated us and all customers like family. Drinks..... awesome! food..... delicious! It's safe and great environment! If you're looking for fun night out with drinks, fun and dancing; you should definitely visit cafe TeJas.

Very charming and unique place: A café merged with a garden in the middle of the town, the atmosphere is great, the staff is nice and friendly and food is super tasty. Either you go for relaxing during the day or for partying on a saturday night, you will have a great time in Cafe Tejas.

We stumbled on to Café Tejas by chance as we were wandering out of our hostel Vital Yek looking for a place to eat. And what a find! Placed between two buildings with a beautiful mix of natural wooden rafters and trees providing shelter, the tables are dotted around amongst beautiful bits and pieces to look at, and there are lots of interesting wee nooks and crannies to sit in! The service was faultless - Rafael made us feel right at home and loved recommending things from the menu for us as pescatarians to try... the fish ceviche in particular was amazing! The music was a great mix of classic tunes and more laid back melodies, overall contributing to the cosy, homely feel of the place. After our food we met Roberto (Basa) the owner of the place, and his enthusiasm was infectious, and a real testament to El Salvadoran hospitality. Can't recommend this place highly enough, can't wait to come back!
