Wonderful food, freshly cooked, local and delicious. A lovely family run taverna this represented the best value for money we had on holiday in terms of both the quality and the service. We had beans and fried aubergine (great, some other restaurants used almost too much oil), followed by sardines (small, fresh, tasty) and a lovely local pork dish. We... More

I ate a delicious rabbit stew and my husband enjoyed Greek meatballs in the middle of the day. The service was good and the view and location over Matala beach are excellent.

My wife & 14-yr old daughter were coerced to eat here because of me! I read reviews before our holiday to Matala and Alexis Zorbas scored OK. Rather it scored well for Greek food. I was really keen on Lamb Kleftiko and this place had the best review in Matala. Well, on ordering, 1, the the lamb, it transpired, was... More

The dish with greek salad was very big, enough for two persons. Sword fish was tasty. But they had to warn that calamary is fried with batter. Don't recommend to try it. The view and service are very good.

This restaurant situated lovely on the beach of Matala has cretan food with a very good price/quality index. Try the fantastic fishsoup for only 6 €. The family that owns this restaurant is very friendly, the sons play sometimes the guitar and mandoline! We always love to go back there.

The food here is good and the "stews" are great. Try the stifado and people who love lamm must try the kleftiko. It is not so cheap as other simple meals, € 12, but it is great. Nice restaurant with view on the bay and friendly service as in most places here in Matala.

This Taverna, 8 mtrs from the shoreline thus with a very nice view on the beach and sea, serves nice Cretan Food and Fresh Juices, all for a nice price. Fishdishes are fresh. Service and Food is very good and met our standards. Nice people working there, as also goes for the guests visiting this place. The waiter speaks many... More

We expect more than this meal on a cretan restaurant. We had ordered kalamari, but i am sure that the served dish had not kalamari at all. It was something like kalamari. The greek word is "thrapsalo". Very soft and obvious refrigerated. The ordered snails were good. The "ntakos" was not on the expected quality. The prices were not cheap... More
