We visited this well known local bar/restuarant for a carvery. It is only £7 and the meat (a choice of beef, lamb or turkey) especially was top quality. A good choice of veg and lovely big Yorkshire puds with tasty gravy. Serves a decent pint and the views of the sea and priory make it well worth a visit.

We visited on a Sunday afternoon and were a little worried if they'd be too busy focusing on the carvery and not the average menu but we were very wrong! The food was fantastic! There was three of us in the party and we had the vegetarian lasagne, steak and ale pie and the fish and we were all impressed.... More

As Veggies we often find carveries surprisingly good value. Either just veg or a veggie option. This was a good choice. Staff very efficient and polite.

The place itself is in an excellent location! We used to go on a regular basis to have the carvery during the week for the great price of 2 for £10. However i think our last visit will be our last. The roast was ok, the veg, either underdone or mushy & no flavour at all, the Yorkshire puddings overdone,... More

Myself and new wife had a small function in the upstairs bar and function room. we were lucky enough to have a nice sunny day so the view over King Edwards Bay and out to see was Amazing. It proved to be a perfect back drop for the pictures. The staff attended to our every need even providing children meals... More

Very disappointed with the full carvery, veg was terrible mushy carrots, raw broccoli, everything was just luke warm totally disappointed and was expensive too on a Sunday, £38 for 3 people with a drink, give the waiter £40 and had the cheek not to bring change back which was very bad, shall never go back again.

When we come to Tynemouth to stay for a few days this is one of the restaurants we usually visit as it offers friendly staff and good food with value for money. However on our recent visit we had to leave as one of our guests has a food intolerance and requires gluten free ingredients. . The carvery was the... More

Firstly, the meat was exceptional. Can't think of anywhere I've had better on a Sunday lunch. The pub itself is really nice too. However, the rest of the lunch was a real let down. Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes were okay but rest of the vegetables were pretty bland/soft and the gravy lacked much taste. Would definitely give another chance... More
