Place was very busy - staff were friendly - but the quality of the food was very poor. I paid $18.8-0 for a plate of very soggy and unappetising french toast - literally just dunked in some fluid and panf ried. Coffee was good - but they don't do takeaways. Son ordered Nachos - then about 25 minutes into the... More

We stopped here for lunch after we'd had a pitstop at the adjacent public toilets. The food was okay, nothing special but did the job. Very nice staff. Lots of seating inside, and also some outside.

So we were in Turangi, a slightly random place to say the least. The restaurant looked very local and had an open fireplace so we were attracted to it like moths. Let's just say the food could have been better (or at least cheaper): carbonara was swimming in the cream sauce and quite sloppy, sweet potato soup was edible, but... More

stopped for coffee and cake at lunchtime and enjoyed it so much that we went back for dinner! Lovely staff and delicious home cooked food, with an open fire in the evening. Everyone had a genuine interest in making sure we enjoyed our meal. Very good value for money.

We popped into the cafe for an early dinner. Staff were welcoming as was the Open fire. We enjoyed our mains and the Lemon Meringue Pie.

Great atmosphere especially in winter with the fire going. As a local we call in often for a coffee and muffin. Always fresh. Have had dinner there also and found good food and drinks at a reasonable price.

We had afternoon tea when we arrived. We enjoyed it so much that we returned the next day for lunch. Had croissants with egg and bacon - awesome.

Second night 3 couples, first couple last night. Good service and friendly. Venison really tender and tasty. Steak needs an improvement on taste. Good selection of beers

Eggs Benedict advertised with lime and mint. Couldn't taste either. The actual taste was of Blue Cheese. Complained and got a partial refund at least. No take away coffee also an issue. Expensive. Won't be back.

Very busy café when we arrived, coffee and hot chocolate were nice, staff seemed a little bit under pressure. Cute café though. Didn't eat the food.
