Mirabelles is where we always meet with friends on our bi monthly (or so) visits to the Wairarapa. Love the French ambience and excellent cabinet food.

My wife and I called in here whilst travelling between Wellington and Napier. We had a pot of tea and a coffee, which accompanied a really tasty, crisp croissant. The proprietor appears to be French, and the lunch menu looked fantastic with the French influence. There was a limited selection of good French wine. A gem of a find!

Cold, wet, deserted main street late on a Saturday afternoon. We were so happy to find Cafe Mirabelle open, warm and inviting, Coffee was superb, hot and strong. Sweet treats galore to make choice from the gleaming cabinet difficult. We decided on one savoury and one sweet. Long, elegant spicy sausage roll and a slice of unbelievably delicious super decadent... More

I have enjoyed going to Mirabelle over the years and tried to book just now for Friday evening, only to be greeted with the news that they no longer open evenings unless you have 15 people. Web site still says open Fri and Sat from 7pm and bookings essential!

Stopped for coffee and sweet. Was very busy in the cafe (a festival was on in town for Carterton's spring Daffodil Day). Service was warm and friendly and came with a smile dispite how busy they were. I was even offered a refreshment while awaiting my coffee. There was a happy and friendly relaxed feel to the cafe and the... More

$18 for two coffees and one savoury pastry is more than you would pay in central Wellington! That said the pastry was very nice, but the coffee was too hot. And the service, well, patronising and bordering on rude when I said I had burnt my mouth on the coffee after a sip. No second cup offered just a dollop... More

A typical 1950 decor, music and traditional Frenchman running the shop. The french accent coupled with the instrumental string background music lends to a interesting concoction of viewing the crowds, taste of my large Latte, the bang bang of the single brassiere working overtime, makes a enjoyable midday entertainment. The food does look divine. It might be the French presentation... More
