Lovely welcoming cafe. Stayed overnight in Carterton on road trip around NZ and came here for breakfast. Welcoming staff and lovely breakfast with free wi Fi ( needed to book our next motel so was very welcome). Top range coffee/cakes/pastries with comfortable surroundings and papers to read. What more do you need?

A grumpy waitress today. A bagel without cream cheese (which I had ordered specifically). Picking up the used crockery and cutlery in a plastic tub may be efficient but looks and sounds awful. The coffee I had was quite weak. The doughnuts and lamingtons looked delicious. A mess on the floor left by previous diners wasn't swept up promptly.

We always make a point of stopping here if we are travelling to the wairarapa. Lovely, comfortable surroundings which are refreshingly unpretentious. Wonderful, friendly service and food to match which is served quickly and in generous proportions. Worth going in just to have a look at whats been freshly baked that day!

Stopped here at this very busy cafe on a week day. I can see why it is so popular. Great food, dedicated staff.

You can always be assured of a good meal or snack when stopping at Wild Oats. It's a homey, comfortable cafe with some nice outside seating. The only problem is deciding what to eat: something yummy out of the cabinet, or maybe something fresh from the kitchen? (I had some beautiful eggs benedict.) And don't forget to take away some... We called on for lunch today on our way through to palmy. My mother took a turn and the staff here were absolutely incredible. They offered water. Sorted a seat and then made us tea on the house. We later had a lovely lunch in a lovely setting and when we left they gave us a gift of 6 tarts.... More

whenever we pass through Carterton we stop for their great coffee and amazing custard squares. The other dish we cant go past are the wedges with sour cream, cheese and bacon. Hubbie and I share a bowl and it is a very decent size. Havent tried the all day breakkie but that looked good. Outdoor seating when it is sunny.... More
