While in holiday we enjoyed a couple of meals here as well as popping in for the odd drink after a river walk. Gorgeous food in lovely surroundings. Staff were very friendly and recommended a couple of whiskeys for us to try.

We went because the building looked really cool. Turns out the food and service were just excellent! We had a tough time deciding but ended up trying the lunch specials and an extra! We had the fish, the salt and pepper calamari and the chicken....Good portions to split and the fries portion was huge! Really enjoyed.More

The pepper sauce is so incredible over the carrots, green beans and potatoes that is will make you crazy in a good way!!! The sticky taffy pudding will actually roll you eyes back in your head. Limited menu and be sure to make reservations.

Order a dram or two at the bar from Ryan, who can steer you in the right direction depending upon your preference. Kate, Erin, and Laura will fix you up with menus, cutlery, and fun conversation as you wait for your meal. You can book...a table in advance for a meal. It's a popular place so do this in advance. Food is very good and there are always specials. But the bar is the winner! Fun staff, great selection, and what you probably always thought a neighborhood pub should be like.More

Stayed here as part of a walking holiday in Speyside. The Mash Tun provides clean, comfortable and relaxed accommodation. The food is excellent, the best locally so make sure you book in advance as it’s very popular. Great breakfasts that set us up for a...full day of walking. Very friendly, helpful staffMore

Visited for lunch with family as a group of 4 and turned up without a booking. No problem with finding a table. Staff were helpful, friendly and kept us informed - not intrusive in the slightest. They made us feel very welcome. We were offered...both lunch and main menus and advised main courses were likely to take 30 minutes or so to prepare and cook. We ordered 2 dishes from the lunch menu and two ‘Proper Pies of the Day’ from the main menu. All arrived at the table at the same time, all clearly prepared fresh and within 30 minutes of order. The Beef Baguette and Japanese Dumplings from the lunch menu were exactly as ordered and very flavourful. The Peppered Pulled Pork Pies from the main menu were excellent and probably one of, if not the best pie I’ve ever tasted. The ‘full’ crust was crispy and and golden and the filling was amazing - words are not enough to describe. Certainly a pub to call back to when next in the area.More

We had a great 3-course meal here. Very friendly staff who served us quickly and with a smile. Starters, main and dessert were all good. Considering the restaurants we’ve visited in the area I would say the best option in at least a 5 mile...radius.More

Service is apparently renowned for being slow, but repeated statements from staff to pressure you on timings make you feel very much like you’re in the way. The pie was very good, but comes dry & a very small pot of gravy cost £3 each,...which just felt really tight & epitomised the meanness of spirit we felt. The Highlander & Copper Dog are much warmer & hospitable, plus the copper dog food is outstanding (we didn’t try highlander for food) Shame as it has such potentialMore

We arrived to be told they needed the table for another sitting in 1.45 hours. Ok so we only ordered mains. While we were waiting for approx an hour for our food several pre booked diners arrived. The manager proceeded to rattle off the menu...before people at each table had sat down. It had a very bad atmosphere with staff giving looks as he was being so rude. Our meal was ok, the presentation of it was like a school dinner, in a plate/bowl. We finished the meal and asked for 2 flights of whiskey. He reminded us again he had to have the table back at the specific time. Again this took an age and when it arrived he said he needed the table and he’d swapped out two of the whiskeys, didn’t come over and give us a choice about the swaps he made. By this time the evening has a bad taste. I had a mind to stay at the table as he didn’t offer any alternative for us to enjoy what we had ordered. I had to ask him where we were to be with our flights. Brusque and unhelpful, tables taken outside and not enough room at the bar. We were in the area 5 nights, glad we found Seven Stills and ate there twice, such great service, food and atmosphere.More

I Had phoned 2 weeks in advance to book a table and I had a confirmation email but I was told my booking was not in the book. We were left standing at the door while I flicked through to find email but the person...just stood shaking her head then said we have a table you can have, why embarrass us if there are unreserved tables. I ordered pie of the day which was nice enough but I had a pile of cheap frozen chips, £14 is a lot to pay for a pie and frozen chips. My husband had pork steak, veg and sautéed potatoes, he said it was lovely, putting sautéed potatoes would have made all the difference to my meal. The restaurant was also far too warm with no airflow, another 2 couples spoke to us as we left saying the same.More

On a roadtrip of Scotland with my son, our first stop was this gem of a gastro pub/quality B&B. Our room was beautifully appointed and had an amazing view of the river Spey. Food was excellent. Breakfast was included, but we also enjoyed a very...pleasant evening meal. Absolutely delicious and great staff looked after us from beginning to end. Good value, too. If you like whisky, you won't be disappointed, there were loads to try and if you are in luck, on certain nights they offer tasting deals (see photo). We missed this, but the Staff were more than happy to chat about their favourite drams and we then visited to distilleries suggested and were not disappointed. Would definitely recommend and would love to return.More
