We had a very enjoyable dinner at this venue, and were in awe of the mountainous view. Magic! The decor of this restaurant is old world but features, appropriately, wide panoramic windows. The tables are spaced well apart and there is very comfortable seating with support arms . Typical of true a la carte dining the tables had white linen... More

You had to walk through the main buffet area to get to the Panorama Restaurant. It was well worth it as the meal was lovely, staff friendly and the view great.

We recently visited this restaurant as part of our MoaTrek tour of New Zealand The service was terrible.... my wife's order did not come out at the same time as the other appetizers and mains. We highlighted this to wait staff..once, twice and a third time. The order ended coming out after the rest of the group ( a total... More

The buffet was one of the better meals in NZ. I had the classic English breakfast. There was plenty of coffee and juice included. There was a bottomless buffet.

Wonderful views, lovely food, staff is young and international. But top management is struggling. Air con seems to have been out for most of the summer (to despair of staff in starchy uniforms). The word is that it'll be fixed after the season -- great. Meanwhile, it's stuffy inside on sunny days when the place, with its large windows, is... More

We were at Mt. Cook two days, and it rained the whole time. While exploring the mountain or watching the documentaries, it's nice to end the day with a delicious meal in a quiet setting. Several years ago we had had a not-so-wonderful experience here, but my husband was willing to give the Panorama another try, as the buffet looked... More

Dear PeterA4411EH, Firstly, it is disappointing that you obviously didn't enjoy your experience but it is unusual for us to receive such extreme and negative feedback. I have investigated your comments with our front of house and kitchen teams who tried their best on the night to satisfy you, but found your reactions to be aggressive and unreasonable. Other diners... More

The view of the mountains from the restaurant are great. The wait staff are pleasant enough but our service was very slow. The quality of food and flavours were good. The list of wine by the glass was lengthy.

This is the only 'restaurant' in Mount Cook which offers an 'a la carte' menu. There are a few more cafes and restaurants but mainly offer a buffet style. The Heritage Hotel provides you with the option of a buffet meal, or an a la carte meal. The Panorama Room has a pleasant ambience, with good views of Mount Cook... More

My partner and I enjoyed a wonderful evening to usher in a new year. Celebratory and romantic atmosphere was enhanced by a wonderful mountain view from our window side table. Excellent service from wait staff and host created an excellent dining experience. A high quality yet simple menu prepared from quality ingredients and complimented by fine list. All up a... More
