So I was about to start this review by saying about how I made a booking but upon arriving there was no record of it. Having searched for the Devonshire Arms to write this I have discovered there are two in quite close proximity (the other being in beeley) and now think I may have booked one and turned up... More

Popped in recently for a drink, the pace was cosy, friendly and welcoming. We perused the menu which looked very good but unfortunately were unable to partake due to time constraints - perhaps next time!

Just popped in for a quick sandwich and fries. At £8.00 they seemed expensive but the ham sandwich with fries, salad and dressing was excellent and a really generous portion that justified the price. Nice couple of Peak Ales on tap. Bar staff could have been a little more clued up on what style of beers they when I asked... More

A very warm welcome! Shown to a pleasant table for two. Immediately served with a drink and then the menu. Not to large but what to have was the problem! My friend had the Sausages which were delicious. I had the Lamb Kebab. The lamb was sweet and succulent. It was cooked to perfection. We returned for a second evening... More

Basically I loved it, great food well staffed, etc. What stood out as so rare was that the staff were not just polite but did it with actual humour and personality, makes a big difference and they serve a very sexy looking Coffee :)

After a long day traipsing round Chatsworth House we were in need of a good meal and a glass of something nice. As we don't live locally we literally took pot luck and ended up at The Devonshire Arms. We were seated quickly and having ordered roast beef were also served rapidly. The beef was tender and the Yorkshire pudding... More

Property is well presented and is an interesting mixture of the traditional and the modern. Baslow is a mecca for tourists/walkers and the pub is located right by the car park and adjacent to many other eateries and shops. It is busy by virtue of its excellent location but the pub staff seemed hard pushed to cope with the customer... More

Stopped here after a long dog walk. Dog friendly pub let us bring Betsy into the restaurant. Had scampi and chips and a pint for £15 which is a little pricey for the smaller portion size - only thing stopping a 5* review is it's a little pricey
