Michelin star surprise for my partner. We enjoyed it, we made our own atmosphere, it was quiet but does not mean you can't talk or enjoy yourself! We ended up having an additional 3 courses! These were small taster meals but really nice touches. We wished we had the taster menu - looked great from what we saw and much... More

Ignore those reviews stating that the service is too 'stiff', those who give that opinion are clearly not accustomed to impeccable Michelin Starred service (usually Americans I notice), which was flawless here at Fischers. If you want a gregarious, smiley teenager serving you, head for a Prezzo or Pizza Express. If, however, you expect the service to suit the ambience... More

Exceptional Kitchen Table Experience. We had the most superb dinner here last week, the tasting menu with wine pairing, and it did not disappoint. I would even say it was possibly one of the best meals I have ever been lucky enough to taste. I would put Fischer’s right up there with any of the top London Michelin restaurants I... More

Reception was friendly and after taking our coats we were seated in an impressive hall for pre-dinner drinks. We decided on the Taste of Britain menu including the wine flight but didn't have long to relax as having only just started our pre-dinner drinks we were invited into the restaurant - this was too soon after our arrival. Our large... More

Great hopes for this Michelin star restaurant. The food was very good, although not substantially more impressive than its sister restaurant, Rowley's. The disappointment was the atmosphere. The decor is safe and dull. The service is fully competent, but stiff and completely lacking in warmth. A smile, some easiness of manner--these make all the difference the enjoyment of an evening's... More

We wanted to try a starred Michelin restaurant and it was an easy 15 minute walk down the road. The food was all excellent; but, the atmosphere is too stiff. A fine dining restaurant should adhere to formal dining standards; but, there needs to be a little light dinner jazz or something playing softly in the background. Diners all spoke... More

Arrived here after a lovely drive through the Peak District. First impressions were very good. Not as large as I imagined though. Seated in the small lounge area for pre-lunch drinks & canapés, which were very tasty. We opted for the Taste of Britain 7 course tasting menu (although it stated this was only served between 12 & 1pm) which... More

At the last minute I managed to get an early evening meal for four of us on monthering Sunday. Despite the staff having had an extreamly busy day they we still friendly and nothing was too much trouble. There was still a full menu to chose from, we chose the classic menu rather than the taster menu, however with the... More

Stayed here for the first time this week and was very impressed. We stayed in a deluxe garden room which lived up to it's price. The room was spacious and immaculately clean with tasteful decor and fittings. The garden and grounds are delightful. We took breakfast in the breakfast room which was light and airy with very good food and... More

The food and ambience are special. Service is good. We all had the tasting menu. The restaurant easily accommodated a friend who ate fish not meat by substituting fish dishes on to the vegetarian tasting menu. All courses were delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed things we wouldn't ordinarily choose. It felt like great value for money.
