Our last night in Amboise before heading towards Paris, we booked a table at Auberge de Launay on the recommendation of our hotel. A quick call secured a table and the assurance that my wife's vegetarian needs would be catered for with ease. This is what my Euro35 Prix Fixe menu got me: 1st Amuse Bouche - a small glass... More

We turned up without a reservation and even though it was a busy Friday evening we had a choice of tables. The food was French country style with modern presentation. Our food was delicious. Two of the waitresses appeared new and there were a couple of minor hiccups, but it did not detract from the whole experience.

Stayed at Auberge de Launay for 3 nights with friends. We ate at the restaurant every night as it had such a wonderful French cuisine. The food was superb and we all felt it was the best culinary experience we had in the 3 weeks of our travel. The only constructive criticism I would offer is the rooms need to... More

We dined in the garden as fortunately the weather was perfect. Every course we had was excellent and cooked to perfection. The wine list is extensive and should suit every taste and pocket. The portions are sized perfectly leaving you satisfied but not over full. The meal was finished off perfectly by having coffee under the pergola, surrounded by beautiful... More

After driving north from Bourges, we decided to have dinner here our first night staying in Onzain. The restaurant is nice, though we were in the less attractive back room. The service was very slow, disappointingly so; however, the food was good. In particular, the cheese course was great, with a young woman that really knew what she was talking... More

A very talented chef works where who understands flavour, jus, and the right balance between creativity and leaving diners satisfied. One on my favourite meals in France, ever.

My wife and I arrived for lunch without a reservation but we were pleasantly seated in the sunny garden - the flying thrips were a nuisance but hardly the fault of the restaurant. Service was efficient and enough english spoken to add to my wife's french - we eat from the Menu du jour, amuse bouche, then mackerel to start,... More

The restaurant is a gourmet experience. We ate dinner there 3 times during our week's stay. Everything is fresh and locally sourced. The service is flawless, both at dinner and in the morning when they serve breakfast to guests (E10,50 extra to room rate).)

The Auberge de Launay is a 3 chimney Logis situated at Limeray near to Amboise only metres away from the banks of the Loire. You will be seduced by this XVIIIth century restored farmhouse, transformed into a 15 room inn. Our establishment is ideal for visiting the chateaux of the Loire, in particular the Clos Lucé, which housed Leonardo da Vinci. During your stay at the Auberge de Launay, do not miss a stroll in the garden while waiting for a delicious dinner at the restaurant of the hotel.
