Whilst on the walk around Penang Hill and looking for the best possible view we found ourselves in front of the restaurant. A quick glance at the menu was all it took for us to decide to lunch there, yes a bit more pricey than the alternatives but the atmosphere was amazing. The food was well cooked and very well... We enjoyed our set course meal here on a rainy evening. The chowder and pasta had good flavour. The lamb chops were a little fatty but had a nice gravy and marinade. Overall a pleasant evening.

Only came here for a drink during the sunset hours. Twice as expensive but it being atop the penang hill and with the view it has, you wouldn't expect anything to be cheap. Did not try the food. The beverages were standard. Nothing to complain. Can get pretty crowded at times. Oh and loads of Chinese tourists the day I... More

We had booked (way in advance) our Christmas party for 10 people but the restaurant cancelled our booking a few days out from the event because they got a bigger group booking. It was very disappointing.

Getting here is half the fun. Some of our friends drove up, but we took the funicular and then there's 5 min walk to the restaurant. Not sure about wheelchair accessibility if coming by car. But if by funicular it would be difficult if not impossible. Went here for lunch with a large group 10 adults and 4 small children... More

I wasn't expecting good food up Penang Hill as typically food at touristy places are usually not that fantastic. However the good served at David Brown was really good! Food was served hot and well cooked. Definitely a place I will go again. Good food with a fantastic view. Priceless.. I have to also comment that the place is well... More

Have visited here for years and nice to see the gardens are established well. Food was good. What wasn't good was the state of the toilets, they need to be checked regularly. Charging high prices facilities need to match this - enough said

We came here after a city tour and were wow by its tranquil surrounding, a stark contrast to bustling George Town. Ordered coffee, beer and some snacks and we basically sat there for almost 2 hours, admiring the awesome sea line and full view of George Town and beyond. Great place to chill and wind down after a tiring day.

The restaurant is on top of Penang Hill. The temperature is at least 10 degrees cooler. We had a lovely lunch sitting outside with a view worth millions. Very quiet and unobtrusive service. very friendly staff. The food was tasty and well presented. Nice to sit, relax and cool down.
