Stopped here for lunch after Emmerdale tour, pub easy to locate, very spacious and clean, served food up til 9pm. Food portions are large but they do cater for older people and have small bites - although only one person serving we did not wait long for our food which arrived still hot and on hot plates. Very enjoyable time... More

Stayed for two nights with dog which is why we chose this hotel. Great friendly welcome by lad on reception who was busy serving at the bar and waiting tables. Despite being an hour early he showed us to our room quickly and efficiently (room no. 9). Room was basic but clean with nicely refitted bathroom (tiny but adequate). Could... More

The building is impressive, but the road noise was excessive as the main road went past the entrance. The hotel could do with a lick of paint and some TLC, the staff however were very polite and helpful. We stayed because it was the only place in town.

Pleasant surprise when we went in, clean and spacious. Nice staff and a big plus, the Loos are clean! Lots of pubs forget the Loos but they are important to visitors. Would go back to eat. Nice place overall.

Very quiet on a hot Monday in June. Quick and polite service from a pleasant young man who recommended a sweet cider. Very tasty (and lethal!!) cider and hubby enjoyed his pint of beer whilst we waited for takeaway pizzas. Good pub with good food.

Ordered a marghetita pizza for takeaway by phone on a Saturday evening. A friendly man took the order saying it would be ready in 10 minutes- it was! Presented in a normal pizza box, it was a traditional thin base with plenty of tomato sauce and cheese. Very tasty, and better than the local pizza shops, but went cold too... More

Nice, traditional pub. Great interior. I needed a room for the night. Sat at traffic lights and saw the commercial travellers equivalent of the Nativity Star..., "VACANCIES"...!!! Hurrah !! Nice 'single' room. Definitely single by the way. But well priced, clean, warm with brand newly refurbished shower en suite. Great value. Well recommended!
