We love Dassiesfontein. We make it a regular Sunday visit spot and always stop here even if it is just for the amazing farm coffee. Great restaurant and shop with so much to admire. Beautiful decor for sale and the rusks and jam is also a must buy.

We chose to have breakfast here on our way to Capetown after this place was highly recommended by family members. We arrived early and waited whilst workers arrived. No problem here. We waited till after 8:30 and asked staff on the patio if they were open for breakfast and they said yes. We then entered the restaurant area. Staff was... More

Interesting little historically decorated establishment with a wide range of local wines, homemade preserves and dinning facilities. Also for the children is the chance to pet and feed the resident donkeys.

Well worth a visit, either for the great coffee shop & snack bar, or the browse the many different departments situated in the building from lighting, clothing, art & crafts to general hardware. Step back in the time & enjoy the shop that doesn't mind a bit of dust!

On the plus side Dassiesfontein is a great place to brouse for a few hours as it has thousands of items for sale. Quite interesting. The restaurant menu is fairly limited but does offer a few Banting choices which is nice. I had scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and cream cheese for R115 and a bottle of sparkling water. My... When you enter this restaurant you will find it not very orderly. There are chandeliers hanging from the roof, old coal stoves standing on the floor boxes and bits and pieces of everything and anything all around the shop. Even books for sale as well as a neat cheese shop and wines for sale. The meal we had was very... More

We are stopping at Dassiesfontein for the last 20 years but the food quality is declining. Expensive and untasty. I think they have lost their mojo.

A good place to stop over for brekkie en route when on the N2. Friendly, quick service and tasty food in a rustic setting. Blikborde and all. You won't be bored either, as they are over stocked with hundreds of gifts and home type items. Great for anyone looking for a chandelier or a craft beer...which incidentally were cheaper than... This place will keep you busy. Very busy. It is a pandoras box of little interresting things with some eclectic touches. Do yourself a favour and stay for lunch. If I can recomend anything in particular....well....anything on the black board. Just a word of advice....come hungry. The food is not gourmet...but simple food done exceptionally well.

Thank Gerhard V
