As always, I am the stupid vegan of the family but the chef came to me to understand what did I want to relish. The result? A fantastic dinner. I ate some fried "polenta" with a top of fresh truffles and a mixed fried vegetables...More

We drove 50 extra kms to reach this place. Their opening hours on trip advisor is wrong. They refused to let us in and made even fun of us for being late. Don't bother to go there. Plus it doesn't even look good. Rude staff.

Far from the center of the closest town, you need a car to get here and the road isn't the straightest or largest, but it's worth it. Food is excellent, wine is too. All the ingredients are either chef-made or taken from the highest-quality producers...More

Absolutely delicious local cuisine and caring and entertaining service, even if the location is a bit off the main roads. Definitely worth the visit - we actually went twice. The rabbit dish we ordered was tops!

The restaurant was recommended by our B&B - Rio Verde - nearby. We were not disappointed. The chef came out and explained all the offerings on the menu to us. He also offered to make us half-portions - and when talking antipasti, primi, secondi and...More

I had coniglio (rabbit) which was simply great. My partner had the bolognese and he totally loved it. Service was amazing!

Very friendly service, nice setting and very good food. Great wine list and beautiful terrace in summer. On top of this if you drive from Casalecchio through the hills the landscape is absolutely breathtaking.

Description
L'Antica Trattoria "La Grotta" was founded in 1918 by Adelmo Negri, not far from a cave dug into the tuff. Here generations of gourmets have spent happy hours for lunch or dinnerbased on authentic traditional dishes. "Tradition" is the buzzword that after Adelmo, has been handed down from generationgeneration through Aristide until Bruna and children Andrea and Maria Cristina ropes. Andrea is the chef that today thanks to the "secrets" sent by her grandmother Ada serves traditional cuisine, skilfully reinterpreted that follows the seasons, offering the full range of specialties from Bologna and some now rare dishes of the hill.
