Great Margaritas and Mojitos - we snacked on a few apps too and everything we tried was good. Fun atmosphere facing the bay (we watched school children playing in the water, then later a small fishing boat unload the days catch). Played good music also.

Very nice, friendly and good food. Just need to add fans so to keep flies and moschitoes away (and give some breeze)

We were staying at IHD for a 2 week stay but we wanted to get out of the hotel a couple of times for a change of scenery and some different food so we tried Saona Cafe on 2 different nights, each time we really enjoyed it. It was really nice to meet Denise and her husband on the first... More

Good menu. Lionfish is their advertised specialty with several preparations. I tried the most basic - grilled with butter and lime. Very good. Fish was fresh and cooked perfectly. My wife had a hamburger and declared it OK; no threat to In n Out , however.

What an excellent find!!! While on a family reunion to the all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana, D.R., we rented a 12-person van and got off-resort to visit La Romana, a little farther west and north. Afterwards, we dropped into Bayahibe for the beach and lunch... Truth be told, we sat at a restaurant across the street but that kitchen was... More

We had just visited La Ramona and not found too much to do there so we wanted to get back to the water. We stumbled on this gem and had fantastic Lion Fish sandwiches with mango chutney. The side salad was excellent, as well. I would recommend this to anyone!

My girlfirend and I hit this spot after a morning dive. She loved her lobster lunch and my passion fruit mojito was perfect. A thunderstorm passed overhead and we spent longer then expected untill the rain passed. The atmosphere was fun and the community inviting. I havent a bad thing to say about Saona Cafe.

We had our first cocktail here in the afternoon. Mario suggested us his Passion Fruit Mojito and it was just perfect. In the evening we came back and we gave Mario carte blanche on the cocktails, a decision we did not regret at all. Try his "Mario's Banana Special" and the Passion Fruit Mojito. You won't regret it. We decided... More

This is one of the few places on the island you can get fresh lionfish and, in fact, it is a specialty here. You have a choice of seasoning and it comes with a small salad and rice on the side. I had the mango on top. The fish was awesome. That with great margaritas and the meal is exceptional.

Thank David E
