Dining at La Tana del Lupo is always a great choice. Either you go for business or family. Hospitality, food and their wine selection is one of the best in Catania. The best combo is to conclude the dinner with a wide selection of grappa,...rhum and a cigar, everything hosted in a terrace.More

Local meat with such a taste… Brilliant! A wine cellar to be jealous of, with a hyper friendly and pro service. Details like beautiful ceramic plates adds a touch of charm to this address not to be missed in a trip in the Etna area.

A very popular restaurant.......justifiably. Pedara is a big village that has several good restaurants. This is one of them . The menu is authentic, the ambiance is welcoming, and the menu has lots of interest. The portion size is also local so expect large. A goood...variety of wines, ask for advice and go local......we weren’t disappointed. In high season book at the weekend as it is a widely known place in Sicily. We will return to eat here again.More

We were so lucky to be taken here by local Italians as there is no menu and English may have been a problem. Our companions ordered for us with their local knowledge and we had the most superb meal. The food just kept coming &...every dish was a delight. The wine was also exceptional. The restaurant itself is so quint as it was an old wine press and is a jumble of floors all built around its original purpose. Coming back? You bet!More

Authentic sicilian restaurant! Very friendly and helpful Staff. Delicious antipasti with local spumante. Lots of organic local wines. Large choice of meat dishes. Beautiful garçon who serves correct and sees ones needs without asking. At the end free sicilian sweets are being served with homemade...limoncello. We will come again!More

Fantastic way to enjoy a birthday dinner. Wonderfully surprised at the in season dishes. Great, helpful staff. You should try to work on your Italian because English is not their strong point. Beautiful setting in such a great historical building.

We visited this beautiful little restaurant last month for the first time and it was a unique experience. The service was excellent, very personal, the owner's daughter is the front of house manager and she recited the menu from memory, advising us on our choices....I peeked into the kitchen and the chefs, one male, one female, both looked clean and professional, and the kitchen was orderly as well as being spotless. The restaurant is in an old 'palmento' where wine was made, and the original stone channels and gullies where the grape juice flowed are still visible. It is stocked full of interesting wines and memorabilia, and the tables are placed at intervals around the building on different levels creating a homely and welcoming environment. We ordered a house antipasto for two and were not disappointed! Subtle flavours, a wide range of vegetables and spices created a feast which married perfectly with the Syrah we had chosen directly from the cellar. Our first courses were ravioli filled with pistachio and a risotto with saffron cheese, the risotto was exquisite, the sweetness of the rice perfectly offset by the salty cheese. The pasta was a little thick for my liking and the sauce a little too creamy, but my husband enjoyed it. We were too full to try their range of steaks, which included wild boar and venison, and neither did we sample the desserts which sounded delicious. They'll have to wait until next time! The toilets were stocked with toilet paper and soap, a rare commodity here in Sicily, although I couldn't make out which was for women and which for men. If they could improve on anything it would be the lack of a written menu, and a wine list. I personally need to look at a menu in order to make such a weighty choice, and also we felt we were taking a leap into the dark not knowing prices. All in all the value for money was quite good, we spent €60 in two, with the wine costing €15. The only truly negative thing was the table below us who insisted on smoking even though we had said that the smoke bothered us. I felt that let them down on the service side and it is for this reason I didn't give it 5 stars.More

We have spent some very memorable evenings here with great friends over the years. I feel very lucky to have friends living in Pedara, otherwise, we would never have experienced this restaurant. A cousin of mine believes that it is her favourite restaurant in the...whole wide world ! The welcome is wonderful, the food exceptional, the best meats served on terra cotta tiles and all washed down with some wonderful wines and digestifs ! A true find and definitely worth a drive from Catania or Taormina. A welcome break form the touristic spots of Sicily.More

This restaurant is wonderful! They serve the best pasta and steak in Sicily! We have been going here for the past 2 and 1/2 years and everytime we have a special event, we always book here. They set a table for us for 15 people...once and the service was exceptional! Steaks are served close to rare/medium rare, but it keeps cooking on the serving plate. I love this place!More
