We ate here twice during our stay in July... The food was amazing and very relevant to the old town... The gentleman owner was fabulous and friendly, we would most highly recommend dining here if you are staying in Altea, we certainly will be! Relaxing and comfortable setting, see you again!

Four of us dined here for our friends birthday, we live in Altea but this was our first visit, it was a busy night as it was Halloween. The restaurant decor is very traditional and a little old fashioned however the food more than made up for the look of the tables and chairs! If it's a nice day or... More

We had starters, wine and main cources for five. very good service to start With and then we sat there alone. Had to go inn to get some service Three times and the restaurant was almost empty. We had different casseroules and some where good and some had too much fat and to little meat.

We called in here on spec and lucky to get the last available table. The venue is an elevated terrace overlooking one of the streets that run down from the old town to a central avenue in the main town. We had a lovely meal looked after by a friendly host who seemed to know almost all the guests. Our... More

We went to this quaint restaurant owned by a Frenchman and his Scottish wife. He explained the food and it sounded wonderful. We all had something different and all of us agreed that our meals were just ok. Our main unilateral complaint was watery sauces. They could all have done to be thickened up. My dish was green curry and... More

We were recommended to go here by another restaurant which was full. Was late but the owner accommodated the 4 of us. Service was very good with the owner describing the varied dishes. The starters were all excellent with the tuna being particularly good. Main dishes were varied in style but all very tasty. Nice experience overall and not too... More

Having stuck to Altea sea-front and oil town restaurants for many years, we used Trip Advisor to find El Perro Negro. We booked for seven people on the terrace. Although the food and exemplary service deserves a longer review, this is just a short note to reconfirmed what an excellent restaurant this is. I believe that it is only open... More
