It felt a tad like we were gate crashing here. Didn't really felt welcome and there was a slight attitude of "we are the best" well sorry as a local I'm afraid to say they are not.

The restaurant is right on the waters edge, the service is very good. We ate here twice, the first occasion, the food was very good,on the second it was less so, change of chef? The wine was not of the best, and our overall feeling was that it was a bit expensive.

Enjoy dining just feet away from the sea lapping on the shore but the food was pricey and for the price I would expect more garnish that just a few chips. The first evening I had blue fin Mediterranean tuna, I was asked how I wanted it so I said medium to well done, what I got was positively rare... More

Food good but spoilt by an old guy smoking his cigar and blowing in our direction. Why can't establishments ask them to do it elsewhere?

The location of the Cranc restaurant ist directly at the beach. Perfect for a romantic moonshine dinner. The food is very delicious and fresh made. Our favorite was red tuna tatar on a avocado bed with wasabi. Restaurant opens for dinner at 20:30, reservations recommended.

My wife and I enjoyed a lovely night here on our last night in Altea. It was a great experience that we are both very happy we did. Located right on the water the outlook is amazing. We were seated outside and it was great. Inside looked terrific, the whole place was filled and there was quite a bush inside... More

Doesnt look much from outside but this place got soul. Food is reallllly good and its a family bussiness . Their shrimp ballea is superb but u must ask them with no shell. Their clamri is like butter melting in your mouth. Tuna tartar is amazing too. Reservations is a must otherwise u will wait for a while.

Lovely setting right by the sea, good food, reasonable prices and quick service. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would absolutely recommend it for an authentic Spanish experience. Book ahead.

A top favourite that we return to every year. Great setting, understated premises, good food and service, we struggle to find much else to compete with El Cranc and we have tried !!!
