We were hungry and stopped here, partly because I was able to park car virtually at restaurant door. We were quickly greeted and seen to a table, service was quick and pleasant. The restaurant had a few other guests and I noticed some fine looking plates of food being served. Was also very pleased with our choice from menu, very... More

Visited today and the lunch menu was limited but I appreciate it's October and not that many tourists about. We ordered two burgers which came with chips. I asked for vinegar which unfortunately had a couple of fruit flies in it. Obviously I didn't notice till I poured onto my chips. It was then I noticed the fly crawling 😱... More

Called in for a quick cup of tea/coffee on Saturday 15th October. The tea/coffee was fine. We ordered two fruit scones........ certainly not freshly baked One brownie .......... was ok One piece of chocolate walnut cake ..... there was only piece left .....perhaps we should have known that there was no way that it was freshly baked. We could not... More

The Clockhouse is one of those restaurants that you bump into once in a blue moon. I thought that we would probably have to travel a few miles when we stayed in our holiday retreat in Tomintoul to have a meal that was not, lets say, "with chips" The Clockhouse is certainly not that. The menu is first class as... More

We had a lovely tasty meal that wasn't by any means the most expensive of our trip. Yet it was by far the best. The specials were different and immediately got my attention. I wasn't diaappointed. It was difficult to decide on a dessert as there were so many i could have eaten. We opted to share a summer pudding... More

We were recommended The Clockhouse by our hire car company whilst touring the Cairngorms and although we only called for a quick bite to eat we were more than happy with the level of service and fair price. Would visit again if we're ever in the area. Thank you.

The best-looking restaurant in town by some distance. The bistro menu is quite short but was pleasingly supplemented by three daily specials on our visit. It's popular too, especially with touring holidaymakers, so definitely worth booking a couple of days ahead in high season. The food was all competently done, nothing flashy, and very reasonably priced. I think they might... More

When I read some of the other reviews, I almost dismissed this a no go, glad I didnt. The Clockhouse was warm and friendly, the food and there was plenty of it delicious. Not a huge menu but the specials menu had their own twist. 2 of us started with the Seafood Chowder (could have had this a main course... More
