We visited as a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 children) on a Saturday evening. We were made to feel very welcome, all of the staff were absolutely lovely (I find this to be rare these days) and our meals were delicious! Windows and doors...were open and tables were spaced so it also felt very COVID safe.More

I took my Mum here for lunch. We sat outside. For some reason, the person who took my order thought I was alone despite the fact that I had two drinks. I was brought my food. Mum was left sitting like a nitwit. They did...eventually bring her meal. Instead of gammon ham, egg and chips, they brought a gammon meal. It was massive. She is 100+ My meal was very greasy. Not impressed with the service or the very lookwarm, afterthought apology. There will be no back return.More

Called in today 24/7/21 on the spur of the moment, very nice place, gave us a table up by the big screen which pleased my husband as the Irish hurling match was on, meal was exceptional, guys who were serving were very friendly & polite,...problem with the wine but was sorted straight away, portion sizes were very good, thought that they'd served from the full menu as we'd ordered from lunch menu, all we can say is a big Well Done, prices were very good, all in all we had a very good experience here & we're well surprised, we will be backMore

As a former restaurateur I am always looking at the full service experience and am regularly disappointed. However this was not so at the Fontygary Inn. All bases were covered and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful in a genuine manner. To finish off...the experience, the food was superb. I cannot recommend this Venue enough, just go.More

Came here bank holiday Monday. Absolutely awful food! Cheesy garlic bread is always a great starter right?! Not this time! £3.95 for 3 slices of frozen bread with a couple of carcoal lines across it and a dolup of melted runny cheese !?!? Had to...scrap most of it off to get to the undercooked bread, gutted I didn’t take a picture because honestly what reputable chef would service such awfully presented food. On to the main , We both had curry’s or so we thought, it was actually in fact a bowl of oil with a few added extras 🤢 it was barely edible literally like eating chip fat, the chips were also over cooked an definetly not drained so greasy! Then the popadom literally looked wet it was covered in so much grease/fat/oil. Such poor quality , We love to dine out and after such a long time of not being able too what a huge disappointment this place was. The prices are very misleading compared to the quality! Also being a ‘family friendly pub’ with an out door play area/ children’s menu encouraging families to dine I was shocked the didn’t have high chairs when we asked for one!? Made it very difficult for us with our baby.More

Stopped bye on the off chance for inside table for two which they managed to find for us. COVID rules were explained & drinks & food ordered in timely manner. Ordered 8oz steak burger & lamb shank & both were absolutely delicious. Quality & quantity...were excellent & my lamb shank was “to die for” together with a rich mint gravy. Only downside was forgotten onion rings but they are forgiven for the oversight this first night of busy inside dining. Could not manage desserts so they will have to wait till next time.More

No problems with the staff but the management needs to change. So rude and not abiding the social distance rules. I understand times are particularly hard these days and you try to please everybody as I worked in the same Industry and it's not a...easy game especially in these times, however me and my family who are in a bubble booked a table for 5 which we were separated as expected but a group of locals of 5 all sat together. When asked by management we were very rudly spoken and told to be sat there and that is the way it is. Also I was told they were staff when I even known one of the 5 who I know FOR FACT they aren't staff. Being local to rhoose and do drink and eat from time to time this is completely unacceptable and have a good means to contact the authorities as the pub clearly indicates posters of social distancing but they are not following the guidelines themselves. Absolutely shocking behaviour.More

Rang and booked in for a table had a lovely conversation very accommodating regarding my booking. Excellent welcome by a staff member who was very attentive regarding covid 19 and that staff member made us aware of all of the procedures. Staff were amazing all...vey friendly. The food was delicious and portions very generous. The wine and beer was excellent. Enjoyed it so much we did not want to leave. We will definitely be back thank you all so much we had a fantastic evening.More
