My first time ordering from Mekong from skip the dishes based on reviews i read. I ordered wonton soup and spring rolls. The broth in the soup was really salty, the vegetables were mushy and so were the wontons and they fell apart, They also...put onions in the wonton soup. Who puts onions in wonton soup? The spring rolls were very greasy and tasteless. To say the least i would not order from there again.More

Visited Thai Mekong Restaurant with our three kids. We had soup, money bags, sticky rice, spring rolls and Pad Thai and it was all very delicious. Love the quaint and authentic atmosphere. Service was very good and the portions large. Enjoyed chatting with the owner;...he was very friendly. Great meal!More

I have been going to this restaurant for many years. The food was always good although frankly, we were always overlooking the small portions and the high cost per portion. It seems to me each time I went to this restaurant, there was less and...less food for a higher cost. Lunch today was unfortunately the last straw. I ordered the Seafood Tom Yum Soup. There are 3 possible sizes so I ordered the medium. It was $16.95 so one would think that it would be a filling meal, especially for a woman at that price. The soup was delivered by the cook herself. I noted she was not wearing a hair net. (Not sure if that is OK with Alberta Health or not but there was 2 hairs on my napkin and I discovered 1 in my soup later too.) The soup came in a medium bowl with a tasty broth with many half-cooked mushrooms floating on top. Other than the mushrooms, there was exactly 4 shrimp in the soup. No other "seafood". One would think a "Seafood Soup" would have more than 4 measly shrimps. There were a few chunks of tomatoes and a chewy piece of lemongrass and another vine I had to set aside because there were too chewy to eat. I ate most of it because I was hungry but stopped with about 3 ounces left when I spotted the hair. I asked about the lack of ingredients but was basically told that was it for the "seafood" soup. I left the restaurant still hungry, dissatisfied and feeling that I was not planning on ever going back again. Too bad. The cook is very good but way too stingy with the amount of food.More

I have been to nearly all thai restaurants in Edmonton. The servings were very small which made it very expensive as you need multiple dishes per person. It is the best Thai in St. Albert but would be less than average for greater Edmonton. They...established their portions and prices when they were the only choice in St. Albert and were successful. Now with more choices in St. Albert and Edmonton they are struggling but don't seem to want to be more competitive. The owners are a nice family but do not try very hard to succeed. The decor though, is quite attractive.More

Popped in for lunch. Ordered the Tom Kai Zhao and Phat Thai. Both were excellent. Staff were on the spot and friendly. A great little out of the way place.

The service was very good and staff was nicely attentive. We shared the green onion cakes & pork spring rolls - both excellent! I ordered for my main dish the Gaeng Kiew Vahn - Green curry and coconut milk with mushroom, green peppers, sweet basil...and Laos eggplant. I'm a sucker for green curry and this was perfect. (I added chicken) If you haven't been here, I'd suggest trying it out.More

We love going to Thai Mekong. Ran and owned by true Vietnamese. You can get spicy or not. Serve beers from the area. And so many dishes on menu it's hard to choose at times. Always like it for a change.

I've never eat in the restaurant but we get takeout here regularly. The service is always fast and accurate. The Pad Thai and Salad rolls are our favourite. Curry's are good but not great although I love how much vegetables they put in them. This...is our go to place for takeout.More

Our family loves this Thai restaurant. Consistently tasty, fresh, hot food. I really appreciate the way the family works together...the young man/son is always smiling and attentive. The husband is very helpful. Ask for the hot sauces to accompany your dine in experience...so awesome trying...the authentic Laos flavors. A treat anytime (except Monday's since they are closed!)More

I have often stopped here for lunch and have enjoyed the tom yum soup and other soups. On my last visit we went for dinner. We shared a red curry chicken dish, the coconut rice and the pad Thai. The coconut rice is excellent and...was delicious with the spicy curry. I prefer my pad Thai a little spicier, but it was still flavourful. I do wish they would have the condiments on the table, like they used to.More
