This used to be a great place for breakfast or lunch. Not anymore. The food tastes like the cheap frozen foods you buy at the grocery store. Will not be visiting this place again.

Have been there many times. Has had a recent reno. Food & service are always good (not fancy, mind you). Prices are fairly reasonable.

We have been to Socrates before for breakfast which was pretty good but were not impressed with the service. (Weekend breakfasts at Socrates are usually very busy.) We were looking for a good home cooked meal after spending a month on the road and eating a lot of pre-prepared chain restaurant food. We ordered the mushroom soup and pork chops... More

We are seniors and ordered bacon and eggs - be careful on the bacon - they do not fry it as ordered - it is fried ahead of time so it is burnt when served - we asked for soft bacon and no avail - second time, the waitress said so you want us to fry from scratch? - I... More

My dad likes to call them "greasy spoon" it is one of those good old restaurant that serves amazing breafast. I have never been there for any other meals i know they are open late. I love their omelette, coffee is good, hasbrowns are wayyyy better than cora's (more crispy and flavorful) good prices, my fiance always takes the pancakes... More

We normally drive past as the parking lot is always full but we thought we would try to get a table. Not too long of a wait and the breakfast was delicious. The service is great and fast.

Stopped in for breakfast with another couple. Was a bit surprised to see a cup of coffee on the menu for 2.95/cup. The server was bubbly and had a great memory as we discussed world affairs after she took our order and she still got everything right. The food was plentiful and tasty, the bill averaged 17.00 each including top.

I've never been here for dinner so I can't say much about that, but breakfast is always cheap and satisfying. Great service.

We have been here many times, typically for breakfast but also for lunch and dinner. Breakfast never disappoints, although the wait can put you off a little. The portions are large, and the prices are fair. They also have pretty good coffee. I wouldn't suggest visiting with a large group (more than 6) unless they will take a reservation. Every... More

Went to Socrates for breakfast as a family of 8. There was about a 20 minute wait to be seated. Which is reasonable for a Saturday morning 11ish. Once seated that is when we experienced the long wait. About 20 mins before we were served coffee, another 25-30 before our order was taken. Then it was about an hour for... More
