Husband commented that the food is more expensive here than other restaurants in Hokkaido. We have been to several restaurants in Sapporo (for both lunch and dinner) and they are cheaper than one lunch here. Food isn’t fantastic. Pork katsu is extremely fatty.... corn soup...too sweet for my liking. We won’t go back again for this standard of food. Look for other options.More

The pork chop was value for money, big portion and juicy. The mushroom and scallop spaghetti was nicely done. The restaurant not easily located but it was worth the trip.

We went there was a family for lunch. There was a crowd and we had to wait for a bit. The Hamburg was outstanding. Mix of beef and pork which made it so soft and delicious. The sauce was also good. The service was so-so....We had asked the waitress to come to take our order and she came towards us and then last minute went to another Japanese table to take their order first, which was a bit odd/strangeMore

We arrived early for dinner knowing it could get busy later in the evening and enjoyed a relaxing dinner when staff had time to dote on us. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her salad that was made of very fresh ingredients. The Japanese (including this Redfern)...pay such attention to detail that you can’t help soak up the atmosphere and such yummy food. The restaurant has a wonderful ambiance that would suit just about all occasions.More

The restaurant is conveniently located in the Lake Toya tourist area. The food served is of good quality. A must try is their beef curry rice - while the curry is fragrant, it is not overpowering and allow the natural taste of beef to surface....The restaurant is also rather cozy and would be a great hangout during winter season. Beware that it is rather popular so better be early before mealMore

Was looking for lunch when I came upon this restaurant in the Toyako area. Would say it’s quite filling but catered more for Asian size portions than for the western standards. I tried the Macaroni Cheese and it seemed like they were over generous by...giving more portions of mushroom and mushroom compared to macaroni have to say that a plus point for customers. The cod roe pasta was great although this time the onions were a bit excessive and noodles have been more but overall great dish. The famous hamburger was great too that is my recommendation. The service is great but the drinks are a little pricey for the small portion given.More

The best part about this place is the history. The restaurant is obviously family run and has been for quiet some time. The wooden building looks like it might have been built by hand, and the cosy interior is lined with black and white photos...of what looks like former owners. The staff are probably family too. The dishes are not too bad, although probably not your traditional Japanese fare. The specialty is a hamburger steak, which is covered in a ketchup sauce and served on a hot plate. There are also a number of other Japanese-Western fusion dishes which are interesting. This is definitely worth a try if you are staying in the Toya region, for, if nothing else, the interesting history of the place.More

This is not a place to go for a gourmet experience. They serve decent comfort food in a nice setting.  There is not a huge choice in the area so this place does very well.  I think the rating is high due to lack of...competition regarding the dishes, and nice setting and staff.  It gets very busy so you may have to wait for a table.  The service is great and the ambience lovely in this cosy little cabin like restaurant.  We enjoyed our meals and especially the seasonal sauted Asparagus which was superb.  The Hamburger meals and pastas were good but just above cafeteria level.  I down grade the rating a little because this place is not cheap, and the meals not huge.  Regardless, a very pleasant experience but I wouldn't get carried away with this place offering a 'foodie' experience.  There was a nice place next door that had seats as we did have to wait 30 minutes.  Spring and summer offer a lovely flower loaded garden at the entrance.  Very well run and nice venue.More

Reached there slightly before 12pm and restaurant is already nearly full. Quaint looking restaurant. There were 4 of us and we ordered pork cutlet, fried scallops, pork chop and omu rice. Waitress spoke reasonable English and kindly informed us waiting time was around 20min. Every...dish was good. Not cheap but food was enjoyable. Will come again.More

My family took a late lunch at Boyotei today. My crab fried rice was passable, but my son's Hamburg steak was delicious and inadequate for him. He took a second order for the pork steak which was preset good too. We had to wait for...about 20 mins for the food to arrive although the place was only 3/4 full. Service was very good.More
