We came upon this restaurant by chance and were particularly attracted by the fact that it offered something other than regional cooking - much though we like that. We had two Basque dishes - tapas followed by pan fried crevettes, which were actually served in...More

We were canoeing down the Dordogne when Le Tournepique came into view. It was convenient to row to the shore, pull the craft onto the beach, and climb the bridge stairs to the restaurant. It was convenient. The salads and deserts were excellent!

cThe Tournepique restaurant, ideally located at the side of the Dordogne river, at the foot of the attractive village of Castelnaud and its famous medieval castle, welcomes you in a simple, warm and authentic atmosphere. Just in front of your eyes, the Chef prepares with love his delicious poelees de poissons et fruits de mers, pan-fried fishes and seafood in the purest basque tradition. The newcomers can also experience a range of traditional dishes from the Perigord and their flavours. All year long, you can contemplate the Dordogne river and its scenic view while enjoying a delicious meal, and from May to October also take advantage of eating on our sheltered flowery terrace.
