I wonder whether some of the groups dining when we were realise that this is truly Michelin star level food. As good as the last two single star Michelin restaurants we've had the pleasure to visit. Outstanding food served in a friendly and unassuming way....The menu looks at the higher end of prices when you first look at it, until afterwards when you realise what you've enjoyed and what value it truly represents. Keep up the good work!More

Casual dining room with top notch fine dining. Prices for food and dring are an absolute bargain for the quality served. It was our first visit and could not fault the food, the wonderul welcome and the charming staff it felt like dining with friends...except our friends don't cook that well! We visit the area annually and will ensure we reserve well in advance for our next visit. Heartilly reccomend the tasting menu (particullarly the fish one ) but bring an apetite as there are quiete a few courses.More

We had not visited the Waterside since Covid lockdown. Time had obviously been spent on decoration and the place was not as understated as on our last visit. The usual warm, laid back welcome led us to the star of the show at the Waterside...- the food. We went for the A la Carte menu it’s a good range of choices enabling freshly prepared individual dishes. Presentation of the food is excellent but the taste and flavours are outstanding including the intriguing and lovely Jerusalem Artichoke bark! We went for the Asssiette of desserts upgraded for the three of us - just exquisite! A brilliant relaxed lunch with superb food - what’s not to like1More

Went here for a birthday lunch. All three courses were beautifully cooked and the service was spot on. Previous visit we had the taster menu which was excellent. Can't wait to go back.

Absolutely fabulous food. This was a real find. The food was really good. Originally, I wanted the tasting menu, but this has to be for everyone at the table. I do understand why, if everyone doesn't have it, plates are delivered to the table at...different times. The Waterside is not the only restaurant to stipulate this and it's such a shame. My husband and I are perfectly happy to have plates delivered at different times. However, my real big bear with this policy, bargain not only appertaining to the Waterside, is restaurants don't always have a vegetarian tasting menu, so that means that the entire table can't order a tasting menu. That said, the food was amazing, really innovative and well thought out. A definite must go to, if in Shipley.More

We were in the area for the first time so used Tripadvisor to choose this restaurant. We were very hesitant when it came to the location and the approach to the building and could put some people off. BUT you must continue as your experience...will be second to none. The front of house was very inviting and welcomed us with a smile. He kindly guided us through the menu and we order the salmon and scallop followed with the duck and veal. The presentation of the food was first class but this was only a visual invitation to the fantastic food. We expect to be back in the area later this year and will definitely visit again.More

What can I say? Took my husband and brother in law for lunch. Both are hard to please. The taste combinations on each plate were exceptional. We ended up with a dessert each and then ordered a 4th to share. Quality of food is outstanding...and an attentive, friendly but non fussy waiter service added to our enjoyment. What a gem of a place . In my opinion this is the place to go if you want top quality at really a reasonable price. Eating outside but under cover by the canal was a bonus. I am recommending this because it is so well deserved but hoping there will be space for me very soon for a return visitMore

I’m in two minds whether to leave this review , mainly because I don’t want it to get busier, & keep it our little secret. We ate there tonight and had the tasting menu, which at £40pp for five fantastic courses is in my book...an absolute bargain. To start the amuse bouche was autumn veg soup a warmly spiced vegetable soup perfect for a damp chilly Tuesday night, followed by perfectly cooked Quail on a bed of mushroom with a red wine jus. The next course was delicious scallops with a lobster bisque sauce. The main was a trio of pork, belly perfectly cooked, cheeks which were so flavourful & just melted in the mouth & a black pudding which was cooked in some kind of coating & absolutely gorgeous, this came with some fine broccoli stems & scalloped potatoes with a delicious pork gravy reduction & a pork crackling crisp. The pre desert was a pallet rejuvenator, raspberry & Sorrel sorbet, followed by an exquisite deconstructed Black Forest gateaux. Portion size was perfect & both myself & my wife finished everything by left feeling pleasantly full. Service was great, the waitress was very friendly & knowledgeable, we didn’t have to wait long between courses & certainly didn’t feel rushed. There was a good selection of wines, and a bottle of Prosecco for £25 I thought was very reasonable. I can’t comment on the decor as the food took Center stage and all of our interest. There was a nice ambiance to the place although the choice of background music was very eclectic if not a little strange, but not intrusive. I thoroughly recommend Waterside, but won’t be telling too many, as I would like to return & want to guarantee that we can get a table in future . Well done to the team at Waterside for a great little restaurant. Five stars from us. XMore
