What a place, staff are so friendly and as for the food you will never taste fresher, granted its more expensive than other Indians but you get what you pay for.

We have visited the last two Friday evenings for dinner. The food was lovely. Spiced onions and popadoms, lovely fresh vegetable pakora and the different curry's were great. The staff are friendly and chatty. Well worth a visit.

My family and I ordered a massive meal for a Father's Day dinner. When we sat down to enjoy our meal, we found that the two chicken chasnis we had ordered were swimming in sauce with only 9 pieces of MINUSCULE chicken. I phoned to...More

Thank you for you're kind response. First of all I'm sorry you were not happy with the potion sizes as you were sharing the curry with you're sister no wonder you're complaining about the portion size! Obviously it wasn't enough to feed both of you....More

Got a take away which was just short of £30 for two curries. Both curries swimming in ghee , the lamb though very tender was hard to find and the prawns were obviously a protected species as they were equally in short supply. Both curries...More

My wife and I dined here on Saturday night, we don't go here often as we are aware it's more expensive than others, like £17 for a prawn curry but the food is good. I know when my food is pre cooked and warmed up...More

Description
WELCOME TO SHAFIQ'S SHIMLA COTTAGE (formerly the Simla Restaurant) Initially opened in 1973,the Simla was, then, the only Indian restaurant serving Indian cuisine out with Glasgow-thus our pedigree beyond that of any Indian restaurant in the Paisley/Renfrewshire area. At the time ,my wish was to make the highest quality Indian cuisine available to the public, and now with the establishment of the Shimla Cottage,i am delighted to offer even greater quality and more extensive choice. The availability of fresh produce is,i believe, the foundation of good Indian food. Here at the Shimla Cottage we pride ourselves on our insistence on the finest quality ingredients, all year round. Fresh herbs and spice, such as coriander and green chillies, are constantly available to us. The quality of produce in Scotland is such that i feel the standard of our dishes on our menu far surpasses even the best to be found in India or Pakistan. I am proud to say that the Scots have a knowledge and appreciation of curries which is often greater than that of many Asian people. The Simla restaurant has long been regarded as the name for Indian cuisine. i believe that the Shimla Cottage is superior still. If you regard yourself as one who appreciates the best in life, then why not indulge your sensibilities at the Shimla Cottage. you will not be disappointed.
