We came for lunch with 25 people and what a shame we don't have enough time to come back. Amazing fresh food, a lovely host. Very reasonable pricing, an absolute must go when you are in Malta! Thank you very much.

Local food cooked with heart and soul. Perfect taste. Donald loves his work. Not fancy room. More a living, generous lovely kitchen with tatsy food. The cook makes one menu with meat and one without. Explains his cooking with glow in his eyes. Take your time, a bottle of wine and enjoy a long evening.

Fabulous sharing platters and freshly prepared local food. The owner did all that he could to be accommodating of our requirements and explain (with evident pride) the source and ingredients of the various dishes. The starter platters were the highlight, especially the olives and 'dips'. Good local wines, and while not 'cheap,' certainly well priced over all. A delightful family... More

Delicious food and a flamboyant owner made our visit here most enjoyable! The food is best enjoyed as their 5 course 'of the day' and plates small and large will keep appearing with tasty treats, all cooked with no butter or cream. Do make sure to say if there are things you prefer not to eat, as the menu is... More

Ensconced in a narrow street in sweet old Birgu, Tal-Petut is a restaurant with a difference. It's one of the few places whose claim to serve genuine 'local' food is fully legitimate. That's not just because of their recipes--although their menu includes traditional items, it's far from limited to those--but because freshness and authenticity of produce and ingredients are something... It didn't take long to realize how great the food is on Malta. Between the bread, wine, fresh fish and magnificent goat/sheep cheese, I would fly back there just for lunch. But a special meal was had in Birgu at Tal-Petut. Not only is walking the cobblestone streets of this medieval city a charming setting for the meal ahead, the... More

Tai Petut was recommended by our excellent hotel and proved to be a gem. There is no menu but you are offered a starter ( anti pasta) which consist of an amazing selection of vegetables all given a fantastic flavour . We had lovely bread and at least twelve fair sized portions of vegetables all exceptional. I will not insult... More

Make sure you are hungry because you will get 3-4 large courses inspired by local fresh produce. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the food is cooked beautifully. If there are foods you don't eat, just let them know and then sit back and enjoy your meal. We enjoyed the whole dinner with water and a bottle of lovely... More

This is definitely the place if you want an authentic Maltese experience! The service was great and the waiter was able to recommend what to try.
