We tried the St. Jacques at the urging of our dinner partners...and were so happy that both of us had ordered one. This is the kind of thing you should share, but really don't want to. Perfectly cooked seafood, a French sauce -- the sort of delicious that makes you stop talking to concentrate on eating. The whole experience was... More

We enjoyed an excellent meal at this restaurant: good cuisine, extremely friendly service (rare enough to deserve a special mention) and excellent local wines. I can only encourage visitors to try this restaurant when in briare.

The food at the Bord d'Eau was excellent - worthy of five stars. Unfortunately the service from the kitchen was abysmal - not the waitress - she was standing around waiting for the call from the kitchen for most of the time. I'm all for freshly prepared food but this was unbelievably slow. It was as if there was no... More

not a restaurant town. The restaurant was recommended by the front desk. Only a block away. The local white fish was very good. Price was ok. Atmosphere did not exist. Family style looking restaurant. Lighting very bright

When visiting Briare we planned to have a lunch meal in town. Checked some opinions on various restaurants and decided to visit Le Bord d'Eau. A good choice! Very warm welcome by a friendly and helpful waitress. We enjoyed the 4-course menu of €25,-. There were several options but my wife and I both chose the melon and ham with... More

Do not be put off by the outlook, the food from the region is well worth it. Our party of four chose the €25 menu. We all ate delicious salads, my Rillons with ananas was very tasty. Pave de Boeuf all round followed with Bearnaise or Roquefort sauce potatoe stack and fresh vegetables. Perfectly cooked and well presented with a... More

We were nearly put off but some of the previous reviews but thankfully not. We were a party of eight and had a lovely dinner. All of us enjoyed it, the food was very good and service excellent. The bill was slightly more than 2 of the other restaurants we visited but I would still recommend it.

I have NEVER in my life been treated so badly in any restaurant in the whole world! The service was poor i.e. Not serving my main course at the same time as the other 3 in my party. Then the sausages came clearly burnt! When I discreetly stated this to the waitress, she said they were "well-cooked", not offering to... More

The front Dining Room was not particularly attractive but the food and service was very good. The menu had a wide variety of affordable options.

Although June and midweek (Wednesday) restaurants were very quiet, several were shut, and others few diners. if others were open, we would probably have chosen elsewhere, but we didn't regret choosing this restaurant.
