We called on spec today after looking on trip advisor for somewhere good to eat. We were not disappointed! We had 3 lovely starters and then 3 mains. The service was excellent. The waitress very attentive and helpful when we were choosing our real ale. I would definitely recommend. Lovely food great beer and not what I expected upstairs in... More

Last minute booking so we were not expecting an awful lot but we were surprised, very attentive staff really nice Sunday lunch and a very good price. We had a baby with us but there were other small children there so we did not feel unwanted, baby was made very welcome. Only downside; although bathroom was clean there is no... More

I'm a regular visitor with my daughter, good atmosphere, excellent range of real ales, steak pie and chips must be the best in Cheshire. Dog friendly, free wi fi, thoroughly recommend this pub

Went here with my boyfriend last night for Valentine's Day. The food was lovely as were the staff however there was a slight issue with the price we ended up paying. I had hunters chicken and he had steak and ale pie along with one lemonade and one Jack Daniel's and coke. Somehow just these two mains and two drinks... More

Just off the main street in Frodsham and it looks nondescript from the outside. The side courtyard leads you upstairs to the restaurant which is tastefully done with the decor and seating arrangements. The choice of food was excellent with an additional specials board. The prices were well set and on Mondays they do buy one and get one free... More

We've eaten here many times and always enjoyed the food and had good service. You can eat the same menu upstairs in the restaurant or downstairs in the pub (downstairs is slightly cheaper) but the pub can get very busy, especially at weekends, so upstairs has a nicer atmosphere for dining! A good choice of well kept draught beers always... More

If you like real ales then this is your place! They offer a large range of ales, Perry's and ciders. If your in the area then you must stop in! Great atmosphere and lovely food too, what's not to like?

Came here a few weeks ago with some friends. Had some drinks downstairs, then adjourned upstairs for Dinner. We had a selection of 'small plates' from the starters menu, which were lovely and very nicely presented. Then I had the Pork Belly. I have to say it is one of the best I have ever tasted, and cooked to perfection.... More

Formerly known as The Drovers, The Gaping Gander, The Rowlands and the plain old Helter Skelter, Oswalds@Helter Skelter is a good old-fashioned pub serving real beer and real food. The first floor of this Cheshire restaurant serves a mix of traditional and contemporary cuisine, including meals such as black pudding with potato rosti, bacon and a tomato sauce, swordfish with chilli prawns, chorizo and wild rice and duck with a plum and ginger sauce, while the 'Home Comforts' section offers dishes like a cask ale pie served with chips and peas. A pub that serves good food and a good pint - It doesn't get much better than that!
