The hotel is typical of paradors- spacious and full of old world charm. Basement parking is ridiculously expensive. Breakfasts are good. Use the coffee machine rather than from the kitchen. We were a little disappointed with dinner. Service was good but the food wasn't hot...enough. We also waited 20min for set ice in the bar on one night when the usual barman was off. So very good in parts!More

We stayed at the Parador and had dinner their restaurant. It was excellent, most of the people had fish, but I had the lamb. We drank a bottle of great wine and the bill was less than $100 per couple!!

In front of the tower and next to the cathedral, the Parador is beautifully located. The interior is impressive and bright. Small bar and a few tables on the terrace made for a nice place for pre-dinner drinks.

Service here was very good even though we were a bunch of english tourists with no Spanish. The food was very good.

We stayed at the Parador and we loved it. However, the restaurant for dinner was very sterile experience. The food was good but not cheap and with very few people in the restaurant it was not very memorable.

Wonderfully atmospheric building, with gigantic stone columns holding it all up. Very comfortable rooms. Dinner very good last night (The Rioja Gloriosa lives up to its name), as was breakfast this morning. However, if you wasn’t eggs, you have to order them separately. Everything else...is available in the buffet though. Photos from dinner last night. We both had asparagus as a starter (huge quantity!), then confit duck and rioja cod for main courses. I had attacked the cod before I remembered the camera; it was prettier when it came out.More

We recently stayed for two nights at the Santo Domingo Parador, and on our first day we had a mid-day meal at this restaurant. First the positives; it is quite elegant, the atmosphere is pleasant, the food is well prepared and nicely presented at the...table. Now the negatives, even with the 10% discount offered to the Parador guests, this restaurant is clearly overpriced, and the service was somewhat unpleasant. We felt that at the price paid, our experience was not really worth it. Our meal on the second day at Casa Amparo, even though less sophisticated or elegant, was more satisfying and friendly, and represented much better value. My recommendation is as follows; if you want to spend over 40 euros/person for a three course lunch including wine, eat at the Parador. if you prefer to have a down to earth meal, in a friendly place with good service, and excellent value, go to Casa Amparo.More

Lunch and dinner menus and a la carte. I often recommend the menus as one can take advantage of well tested dishes and a high turnover which is synonymous with freshness. Local delicacies and Spanish Classics - indoors but cozy room passed the patio del...pozo.More

We were staying on the Parador, and ate in the restaurant for 3 evenings during our 5 night stay. Each time the service was impeccable and friendly, and there is a good selection of local wines. The food was excellent value and well presented. I...particularly enjoyed Fideua (a bit like paella but with noodles not rice) and the risotto as starters and the octopus main course was delicious. For me the only negatives are that it is a little lacking in atmosphere (although perfect if you want a nice quiet meal) and it doesn't open till 8:30 in the evening which is rather late for me, however by the end of our stay I had switched over to Spanish time!More
