Bread is in stark contrast to the surroundings. The seating is bright and cheery. The menu for breakfast offers a robust bread basket. The platter is large and varied with cheese, butter and jam. The dish ware is funky and the waitstaff attentive Find your way here and the wonder the hipster neighborhood

Stopped for a coffee and was tempted to order the yogurt and granola with fresh fruit. Delicious and generous portion. Loved the decor and enjoyed the free wifi. Will try lunch for another visit.

Quite an experience on Saturday afternoon...The cafe has a distinctive interior and the waiters are extremely attentive. We had oxtail, which was served with mash, a delicious gravy and carrots. The meat was tender. We had cheesecake and coffee to follow. The live music created a relaxing environment. I would certainly recommend it.

Me and my family visited this beautiful restaurant.Gorgeous interior and I can see in my mind a high tea happening but there was a little bit of business and little special attentiveness that lack. Please visit and make your own decision

The live music (every second Saturday I believe) is excellent, and the food is quite good if a bit overpriced. But the service! One table of six left in disgust after waiting 20 minutes for a wine list. I heard someone say that he'd waited over an hour for scrambled eggs! My other complaint is that the place is filthy,... Such good service(I think it was Busi But I could be wrong) - she works alone at the little satellite office in the office block. Shes amazing and the croissants were to die for - I dont think many people come to this one as its mainly for the offices in the BIG ORANGE BUILDING, but what she deals with... More

Service slow and broken. Different things coming to the table in drips and drabs. First my tea cup and bag. Then I had to remind them off water. In the 3rd round I got the milk. Tea should be served in one go. Drinks at the table should come in one go. Had the burger. Firstly I was set on... More

Experienced Cape Town in a different way when visiting The Bread Cafe. Live jazz music was the perfect backdrop. Very European feel to it

We found this gem of a bistro by accident and had lunch here. The decor is bright and stylish. My husband had the gourmet sirloin steak sandwich - very tasty and tender and beautifully presented. I had a delicious lentil soup, served with a selection of bread. A wonderful experience!

Met a client here for a late Friday afternoon meeting. What a fantastic spot. Often one looks for an elegant location for a business meeting where you can actually relax and hear what each of you are saying. The Bread Cafe has this. We sat in a very relaxing lounge area which literally makes you feel at home. Had the... More
