I want to say a massive thank you to the staff at The Angel who worked the day of the Queen's funeral. The staff there were respectful and friendly during the whole event. We had breakfast and hot drinks and as usual the food was...excellent, tasty and quick to be brought to our table. The funeral was watched by many on their TVs and staff were able to stop to enjoy. My one minor critique would be to stop taking food orders just before anything like this, just for a bit. A family near us decided that the start of the funeral would be an appropriate time to order their food. Meaning the waiters couldn't stop to watch, the chefs had to cook and we had to sit listening to them eat. You think it would be manners to eat before or after. Again, thank you for working with style.More

Warm welcome and even though it was busy and we hadn't booked they found us a table for 2. The menu had gluten free choices and we both went for the catch of the day - sea bass on crushed new potatoes with green beans...and a white sauce. The drinks arrived in good time but there was quite a wait for the food. The waiter apologised and we were not in a rush. The food was certainly worth the wait, just the right size portion for lunch, well cooked and nicely presented. Overall, we we enjoyed our dining experience and will certainly drop in again next time we are in PershoreMore

Stopped here having done a 5 mile walk in the area and visited without booking. Managed to snag a table for 5 and opted to stop and eat. Initially thought the Sunday menu was a bit limited as none of us were up for a...roast but with no other option roasts it was. 3 had the lamb and I had the Beef our other party member had the wild mushroom tagliatelle. The food was delicious! The beef was the most tender I’d ever had. Great vegetable selection. Staff were really polite, attentive and good fun. Jamie shone! We ended with desserts (why wouldn’t you) with most opting for the very zesty lemon posset and one the salted caramel brownie sundae which looked and I’m told tasted amazing! Great value for money with two courses for £19. Highly recommend this place.More

We booked to meet two very special friends from Australia, and this hotel looked ideal. The meal a huge disappointment. Inedible fish cake (fish free), the world's thinnest steak, presentation non existent. A few prawns thrown on lettuce is not a prawn cocktail. Waiter could...not even open the screw cap bottle of Merlot for us! A really disappointing experience not to be repeated. No hot water in our hotel room (which was lovely) either.More

We actually visited this establishment in August last year during the Pershore Plum Festival. Just wanted to warn people not to book it for this year as the service last year was appalling and they kept us waiting for nearly 3 hours for just 2...courses! Staff didn’t seem to know what they were doing, we didn’t get enough menus and there was a choice of just one meat for their Sunday lunch. We gave up on a pudding as we wanted to visit the festival and if we’d waited any longer it would have been closed. I understand that they were short staffed but I sent 3 emails explaining our experience and did not even receive the courtesy of a reply. We have a caravan locally and if we ever have visitors we make sure they use a different venue should they fancy a meal out. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!More

Had roast dinner here in the lovely walled garden .Sadly the food wasn’t . We ordered sea bream and they’d run out by 1.30pm .My friend enjoyed her alternative tasting trout dinner (although the portion was a little on the smallish size )but I made...the mistake of ordering pork roast swayed by the menu ‘write up ‘that this was from their own farm reared pigs and sheep . The Yorkshire pudding was lovely but the roast pork was tasteless ,’pappy’ in texture with too much fat and no crackling at all, accompanied by tasteless underoasted potatoes ,and minimal ‘washed out ‘vegetables ,so this did not make for a pleasant meal at all, hence I left most of it . Our starter of whitebait was ok but not the best either ,having too much batter and being over cooked on the hard squid inside .This was a shame as I have had good meals before at this restaurant and the pub decor and ambience is lovely oldeworlde and characterful .£19 for two courses sounds good value these days but only if the food is edible . I have had farm reared pork before at other pubs and the taste is usually scrumptious and delicious ….I think they need to change their pig feed or something ! P.s I have not recently had covid and do have a perfectly normal sense of taste and smell !More

I dropped in for a quick drink before dinner and fell in love with this beautiful building, the ambience, the menu, the location and the staff. Unfortunately I had booked elsewhere in the town that night so I was not able to stop however I...will be back and I will eat in this wonderful inn. The Polish lady who served my drink was professional, polite, friendly and helpful. She is a good ambassador for the Angel inn.More

We visited Easter Sunday for lunch. Wasn’t very busy. Food came out very quick. And was very nice. Could have done with a few roast potatoes. And maybe few different veg types. Other than that it was lovely.

A few of us had the roast beef which was very chewy. When we were asked how everything was with our meals we mentioned the beef which most of us had to leave. They still charged us full price and there was no offer to...make good on our loss. Disappointing when you hope they would have handled it better.More

Been going to the angel for years now, and visited a month ago and late December 2021 both times having the soup and sandwich option and a coffee, the coffee has changed and is served in a smaller cup , which disappointed me 😒 the...soup is still nice but the sandwich is very plain and just cut in half not quarters and no special bread, just hovis brown, really think they could do better 👎🏼More

We booked a private dinning room at the Angel on Saturday 18 December. We had the cider room. The meal was fantastic and so was the service. It was perfectly timed not too quick and not too long between courses. The private dinning room is...lovely and really great value for money as was the 3 course meal with mince pies after. It was honestly a perfect meal spent with my family.More
