The restaurant is seasonal, and perhaps as a consequence it is not the most sophisticated food. But the location and atmosphere of the place are not to be missed. I would certainly eat there again if I go back.

Beautiful restaurant with an excellent menu. Staff could not be more friendly and attentive. Roof terrace with amazing views. Best restaurant in Vejer. Water fountain in the square outside restaurant is a beautiful place to take some photographs.

We had heard about this restaurant from several friends and booked a table in advance (highly recommended, even on weeknights off-season). Since it's still a bit chilly in the evenings in April we opted for the Pergola dining room and were happy with our choice. The food was fresh and creative with a strong North African influence - a welcome... More

Great food, very authentic. Service was great and exactly what you expect of staff in the Andalucia region...attentive, smiling, helpful staff. Outdoor or indoor dining...beautiful either way...the courtyard and the dining room in the cave is amazing.

Not surprisingly there is a strong North African influence in this restaurant which is part of the Califa hotel where we stayed in early April. The location in the garden was wonderful on our first night but a little chilly for our second night so we ate inside in the imposing yet intimate dining room. Both the food and service... More

I have stayed in the area several months and visited this restaurant few times, so this review is a summary of few visits. The restaurant located in a heart of Vejer in a beautifully renovated Moorish house, preserving its authenticity. I have been around Andalucian pueblos blancos quite a lot, but have not come across anything similar, so really, thumbs... More

If you had enough of tapas then this is your place. Very good menu and high quality food, friendly staff. A bit on the expensive side both worth the money due to quality and also the beauty of the location.

This restaurant is a regular favourite of ours for the last 10 years. Wind your way through flower filled laneways to reach the courtyard. In summer, dining outside under the umbrellas, is the perfect way to spend a ling lunch or dinner. Simple, beautiful quality Morroccan/North African/Lebanese food. Ive taken groups of up to 15 people here, and everyone has... More

We walked through the hotel to find a lovely courtyard where we had lunch. Inside tables were also available. It was a very historic setting in a beautiful old town. The food was a mixture of Lebanese and middle eastern dishes. We had a sharing platter to start and I followed this with tuna filled Lebanese pancakes and my partner... More

Vejer's most popular restaurant has stone vaulted dining rooms and a lush palm-filled courtyard set in an emblematic 16th century building. 'The Caliph's Garden' is one of Andalucia's prime eating destinations. You will be served fabulous North African & Middle Eastern food in a historic, tranquil & unsurpassed setting in the heart of Vejer's medieval quarter. Overlooking the palm filled square of the medieval quarter the Jardín del Califa is inspired by the Moorish rule of Vejer over 700 years ago. The Jardin del Califa is set in one of Vejer's most important historic buildings. The principal building dates from 1527 (and includes parts from the 11th Century) and is now a grade 1 listed monument. The stone clad dining rooms and the palm filled courtyard are the perfect company for your meal with us. Come to the Califa and you will enjoy tasty dishes, stone vaulted cellars, an enchanted garden, a splashing fountain and scented plants. The haven of this quiet corner in the heart of Vejer will provide you with many memorable moments.
