Good local food in an historical-vintage setting (plenty of references to Italian history, from fascism to the Liberation).

With authentic food, typical of the region delivered with excellent customer service from this lovely family Trattoria. So glad we attended this restaurant. The son of the family served us politely with good English (much appreciated) and knowledge of the food & wine on offer.

There are only a few words I can use to describe my experience at Mugnai, and heaven is definitely one of them. This trattoria serves traditional dishes from the Emilia Romagna region. The owner of the restaurant takes so much care in the quality of the food and the way its prepared; for instance the heavenly tomatoes that were served... More

Me and my spouse had lunch here at their nice terrace during a tour of Emilia Romagna. We had home made pasta with porcini mushrooms and tortelloni filled with ricotta cheese with a sauce of parmigiano and balsamico. The service was very attentive and the food was great as well. We also had Lambrusco wine with the meal which suited... More

We tried he restaurant as it was recommended by Corte d'Aibo where we were staying. Lovely family run restaurant. The highlight of my meal was the basil panacotta!

The food was just great. We were able to have half portions so we could test different antipasti, primi and secondi piatti. The chef was really nice and we will go there again.

Our Bologna host treated us to a scenic drive to Monteveglio, just outside of Bologna where we finished the day with a delicious, typical Bolognese meal. Owner met us at the door with the warmest of greetings and continued to shower us with little extras like parmesan and balsamic vinegar tasting, house made salami and fresh bread. Homemade ravioli and... More

Our appartment had a list of local restaurants nearby and this was one of them, so we thought we would give it a try. Being used to French opening hours, we were sceptical of whether it would be open, but happily it was and the host was very welcoming. The decor is classicly rustic Italian and is very pleasant. We... More

Very good service for a restaurant in a small town as Monteveglio. Food quality is good, homemade pasta pumpkin ravioli is a must as well as other plates with porcini. Second dishes are very tasty too with very tender meat. The only thing is that I found most of them a little bit salty for my taste buds. The bill... More
