Not our first time here, been a few times after the last owners thankfully bailed out. Popped in during an afternoon walk today for a quick pint. Lovely pub, great food, great decor, a bit quiet perhaps but otherwise good. However, why oh why do places open up these days without wifi, surely this is basic nowadays? They can do... More

I took a couple of family members here. I hadn't been for two years but remembered the quirky decor and lovely pies they used to have. That seems to have gone. The decor is now stripped of originality although still a nice country pub. No pies to be seen on the menu just standard pub grub (fish and chips, burgers,... More

We had been giving the pub a miss recently as the food hadn't been great but decided to give it another go as local pubs really should be supported. We were not disappointed. The girls behind the bar were chirpy and charming and the food was very good. Puds were perhaps a bit of a disappointment but hey you can't... More

Took some friends to the Nevil Bull after a long day, Thursday, 19th Jan 2017 both of them hadn't visited the Nevil Bull under the new management. My two friends were very impressed with the meal, and so was I. We then retired to the open fire seating area, which nice as it was a very cold evening. Will be... More

I genuinely regret having to write this review. I use the Neville Bull frequently and had a birthday celebration here recently which everyone enjoyed. I took my elderly Aunt here for Sunday lunch - mistake! The dining area was freezing. I noticed that some people on an adjoining table had kept there coats on. This is unacceptable, if there is... We dropped in for Sunday Lunch today and found the pub to be absolutely charming with a good atmosphere, buzzing with chatter and amiability. The furnishings and fittings were well chosen, the rustic exposed brickwork and beams and the open fire all came together to create a very attractive place where anyone would be happy to while away a cold... Just had a scrumptious chicken burger with a great salad and coleslaw. To be honest I'm not a bread fan so the bun was a little too much but other than that a great lunch and was compensated for the request of no chips with wonderful healthy options. Go give it a try, they're trying so why don't you.

Deciding our family needed some more frequent 'bonding' time, I planned a country walk, with the end point being the Nevill Bull to get fed and watered (beer'd!) We did the 4.5mile circular heritage trail, in the rain! (typically, the day before was glorious sun!) once we were suitably soggy at the end of the walk, we were welcomed into... More

We brought a party of nine to the restaurant for a 21st birthday. The food was excellent value for money, plenty of it and very nicely cooked. Staff are very friendly. A country gem.

A traditional country pub in the pretty village of Birling, just outside West Malling. All food ingredients are sourced and purchased by Andy. F Our chefs take great pride in preparing our dishes from scratch using only the finest ingredients. See our Website for the latest menu. We have 3 hand pumps for real ales and have been in The CAMRA Good Beer guide for the last two years. We have a separate dining room which can be used for Birthday Parties and other family occasions. Our large patio is perfect for al fresco dining in the warmer months. Music events take place throughout the year which will be advertised on our website and Facebook page. A family friendly pub where everyone will be made extremely welcome by Andy and Emma. Dogs are also welcome and fresh water is always available for them after that long walk!
