Been coming here for years. The food is always good. The food is made in house, and not the typical restaurant cookie cutter offering.

Great restaurant. The food was beautifully plated. It was full of flavour and excellent value. The atmosphere was pleasing. We were the only ones in the cafe which I am sure is not the norm. Really enjoyed my meal and I am not a foodie!

Nice little restaurant with friendly and fast service. We had a variety of menu items and all were served fresh and were not lacking flavor by any means. The one item that stood out to me was the Mushroom and Swiss quiche. It was so fluffy and moist it just melted in your mouth. The only thing that stopped me... More

We went to Elora to visit the gorge and had lunch before at the Desert Rose Cafe. There is a small terrace at the end where you can eat outside, when it is still warm enough. I had the lentil burger which was very tasty and my friend had a egg and almond sandwich. Their bread comes from the grainharvest... More

Was a little peckish!! I know the nachos are great...so in we go. A small plate of nachos a glass of wine and away we go. Great service, great food. (Unless you have to have meat. I am not a vegetarian and there are all kinds of satisfying dishes for guys like me.)

We aren't, so we were blown away by the flavours and freshness~ and how filling our dinner was! We were looking for something healthier than a hamburger and french fries on our visit to Elora. This place was a delightful alternative to the standard fare of most restaurants. It's been open for more than 21 years- long before this food... More

My friend and I stopped in for supper on Saturday, and returned for lunch on Sunday! We ate out on the patio both times. Try the Squash Soup-amazing!

We loved the coconut Thai soup, the sandwiches and the fresh spring rolls with sweet and sour sauce. The owner however seemed angry, distant. Not warm and friendly as one would expect at a good restaurant. Later during our meal our waitress showed up and was smiling, kind and thoughtful. The restaurant has a new look and the tables are... We have been going to Elora Gorge for a while but have never stopped at Desert Rose before. The boyfriend and I have never fan of the vegan/vegetarian crunchy stuff so we hadn't been enticed before but an accidental purchase of a rather large but good coffee led me to their door (and washroom :D). The boyfriend ordered a mango... More
