Pretty cool traditional pub. Went with friends and had the fish and chips. Food was ok, but wasn't exceptional. Certainly did the job though. Depends what you're after food wise! Staff were really nice, and was really busy. Obviously a very popular place.

Great value British pub food. We all were very happy with starters, mains and desserts. Good choice of wine. The food fresh and cooked perfectly.

Visited for a sneaky light lunch while the children were at school. Hadn't been here for years and although it was mid week the place was heaving. However this did not detract from timely service by an engaged happy team. Will definitely be going back sooner this time.

Our first ever visit here and we received a warm welcome. A great menu and everything was beautifully presented. Our meals were all delicious and served with a wide selection of vegetables and there was a wonderful choice of desserts. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening here and will return. Excellent friendly service in very pleasant and comfortable surroundings.

Just picture, sunny Mothering Sunday, we're driving from Liverpool to Dorset with no food plans made. It's 1730, not eaten since Bkfst, and I'm fantasizing over a Sunday Roast. Pull in here for a drink and, when asked by licencee 'What would you like' , I answer - tongue in cheek - '2 Sunday Roasts please'. Imagine our shock when... More

Thoroughly enjoyed being a guest at a 70th Birthday Party in early March 2017. Twenty-nine of us sat down in The Poplars' attractive function room. Excellent varied menu; choices having been made prior to the event. Having opted for the Steak, I was pleasantly surprised to be asked HOW it should be cooked for me. Medium-rare it came & totally... My wife and I popped in for Saturday lunch the other weekend. We hadn't booked and when we saw the packed car park we feared we would be out of luck. However there were a couple of tables left fortunately. Probably best to book for weekends in future. We ordered drinks from the bar - no delays. Good selection of... More
