We were directed to this Istrian tavern by word-of-mouth and decade old memories. The setting is simple and didn't change much, but the interior is pleasant with the big grill on one side of the big room. We were welcomed by the owner who described the offer for the day and decided to have an appetiser of mixed shellfish and... More

A big disappointment compared to our last visit in 2015. The energy of the place changed completely for the worse. Staff unprofessional, downgraded. Food disappointing, especially as mixed mussels we had were spoilt and still they charged for it. It was a sort of farewell with this place and we are not coming back.

It was one huge disappointment. I heard lot of good things about this place, but at the end it was disappointment. It wasn't huge crowd of people there cause everything is happening at 5 PM, so there is no valid explanation for what happened: between other things we ordered two Fiorentina steaks with different side dishes, and they forget one... Pleasant atmosphere taverns, fish menu is definitely recommended, the fish under the bell is something you must try. All this without dessert and one homemade brandy is impossible to go

Still best price/ performance fish restaurant in the region. Capesante is allways a must. Fresh fish recommended by the owner is a good choice.

Booked a table here as we were staying at San Rocco so a nice short walk for dinner. The restaurant was busy but waiting 15 minutes for any attention whatsoever is not good. After this wait a small woman with no smile arrived abruptly at our table and snapped, " wine , water" honestly she said nothing else and just... More

Been there for the first time. Located at the main road through Brtonigla, nothing special on the outside. We decided to leave the choice of food to the chef. For appetizers we had mussels, excellent, they just melted in the mouth. Then we skipped soup and got fish from under the baking lid with baked potatoes and mixed salad. Mmmm...... More

... certanly considering reputation, quality and name it had before. Our last visit there we decided to take meat, although Astarea is known for it's fish. Owner persuaded us to go for the meat. We ordered octupus for the starters, and it was really bad, tasteless, dry... I had to eat it with wine just to add some taste to... More

We visited this restaurant a couple of times during our holiday and we were always served the most delicious seafood in a traditional, unassuming setting. The owner Nino will greet you with a smile and offer the catch of the day. We had a wild seabass prepared with patatoes on an open fire, mussels and clams cooked in white wine,... More
