We often stop for coffee or lunch when travelling. It is always busy which to me indicates it's a good cafe.Food I have had is always tasty and fresh. There is seating inside and out.The cafe has an array of gourmet items for sale. The service is friendly and efficient .

We stayed at the Camping ground and was stoked to find such an amazing cafe just around the corner. Great coffee , clean premises, staff were very friendly and professional. We had breakfast there on our last day - faultless.

Worth a stop. Food is good quality, well prepared and presented and service is friendly and efficient. The toasted banana bread for breakfast was a lovely idea and delicious.

I've known and visited Licorice many times and generally enjoyed it but my most recent visit was disappointing. I love the range of food available at Licorice - both off the menu and from the cabinet. The cabinet looks absolutely wonderful with a really broad and appetising array of food that all looks great. My friend and I both opted... More

We went for lunch recently, it was quite busy with 80% of tables taken. It's a nice cafe, modern, nice in summer. There's a good outdoor area. The staff were acceptable, helpful enough at the counter, one cleaning the tables was a bit surly. The pancakes are OK, but the berry and cream topping was really stingy. You get a... More

We had a nice lunch at this delightful modern cafe. The food selection was great with lots of choices in the premade case and made to order sandwiches, etc. We had a mushroom and bacon pie, scotch egg and feta kumara stack (sort of like pancakes) all of which were served with a side salad for around $15. Quick service,... More

My wife and I stopped here en route to Wellington. In the afternoon, we had a tea and a coffee. Both were well prepared and of good quality. The cafe has a nice licorice all sort theme
