Stopped in with family and friends to taste this place's trademark dish, a pancake-sort dessert served with cream and jam on the side. It was good, but the host was a little dry on welcoming and making small talk about his specialty. The environment is very warm with typical Tyrol decorations and furnishings.

Very nice food, cosy place. Very typical food, home made and served with care. Good service. The experience was nice, and so was the food!

The Enzianhütte is located in Wahlen (Saint Silvester Valley, in Italian) just north of Toblach (in Italian: Dobbiaco). It’s a very nice location, nestled in a very pretty side valley. Very professional and efficient waitresses, good food… but definitely expensive: 35 euros for a “simplified Brettljause (typical tyrolean afternoon snack), two wieners with sauerkraut, a glass of Hefe Weizen Bier... The restaurant is actually a few miles outside Toblach, just beyond Wahlen. Local specialties include all kinds of dumplings (the Pressknödel with Sauerkraut were delicious), grilled trout, homemade pasta and game dishes. While the main dishes are about average in price for the region, a small side salad of no distinction came to €6, about $8, and one pays the... More
